Question about Janome Sewing Machines

Open Question

Irregular bobbin stitch

The bobbin has an irregular stitch - not sewing in a straight line. I cleaned and oiled the machine and changed the needle= but this made no difference.

SOURCE: Sewing machine straight stitch is not straight

Hey. It's full out possible that you have it on the right setting...but concider this - the switcher inside the sewing machine could be broken (ie. It's moving to different stitches - but not the one you have the outside set for)

It happened to me (pc o crap singer model)

SOURCE: Bernina 1130 not catching bobbin thread

there will be a adjustment in that you should select the stiching mode and in that give the straight mode the problem will be solved

SOURCE: janome straight stitch loose

I don't know if this is the right answer for any of you, but thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in. Often this can be the bobbin in backwards. It needs to unwind a certain way depending on the machine. I've heard a phrase for this: Mind your p's and q's which means some wind off to the right like a q, others to the left like a p. Mine has to unwind one way then be slipped backwards into a little slot or it does that loose bottom thread looping and bunching someone here mentioned. It seems everytime I get that problem I rethread the top thread 100 times before it clicks again and I remember it could be the bobbin thread. Either your manual will tell you the correct way, or you could experiment and try one or the other. Once you figure out whether you're a p or a q, mark it on your machien somewhere to remind yourself.

Good Luck and Happy Sewing!

SOURCE: Machine will not pick up the bobbin thread.

if your machine's needle threads from front to back, make sure that the flat part of the needle shank points to the rear of the machine. If it threads from left to right, the flat side should face right, etc.

I make flannel square quilts for babies, it is a nightmare itself. It makes a lot of lint in the bobbin case and under the face plate, try prewashing the fabric before using it and clean out the bobbin case frequently while sewing. When i dont prewash it, i just open the bobbin area and blow the cotton dust out with my breath or i use the small brush to clean it out

Sewing outdoor polyester ( denier) medium weight with outdoor polyester thread. bottom stitch is not straight? evenly spaced but irregular in alignment. Help?

increase the needle thread tension
the bottom stitch is a direct result of the needle movement pulling the bobbin thread up to the hole so for the bottom stitch to be irregular , so is the top stitch

I bought Brother sewing machine Model XL 2230, And could not get a good stitch. Keeps giving me loop either on top stitch or down stitch. Dont know if the single needle can't do straight sewing and dont...

The foot is on the side. Make sure it is clean. Take off the plate and remove the bobbin cleaning all the lint and thread out with q-tips. Oil if needed. Make sure you are using the same thread in the bobbin as on top. Rethread the machine making sure you do it correctly. Change needles using Schmetz as it is shorter and I have found Singer and white label needles are too long and cause problems and well as break easily as they hit the bobbin and cause looping. Not sure what you need to know about the foot. It should have a handle on it so you can put it up or down. Google Brother model XL 2230 and download a manual to find lots of info about your machine.

Brother VX 1120.... Machine is not making consistent stitches then thread loops and stitch goes straight and half zigzag, thread breaks. Same with straight stitches...will go for about an inch then stitch...

Remove the needle plate, bobbin case and bobbin and clean any lint that has accumulated.

Oil, if the manual indicates you should do this and where it should be done. Some do not as it has to be done by a repair tech.

Re-thread the machine with the presser foot in the up position.

Make sure the bobbin thread is feeding from the bobbin spool in the correct direction and through the proper guides.

If the problem continues, the machine will have to be services by a sewing machine repair person. Take samples of the stitching so they can see what it happening - it could be the timing has to be reset.

Suddenly zig zag stitch not working?

Because it is almost a straight stitch but the needle continues to move in a zig zag fashion is reason to believe it is in a long stitch. By changing the number of stitches per inch there will be a very noticeable looking zig zag stitch.
