To make sure your computer is trying to use the proper connection you need to go into Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections Tab > and select never dial a connection. That way windows will only try to access the internet via your wireless or cable LAN connection. Also you need to make sure that you are not set up to use a proxy. Go into LAN Settings on the Connections Tab and make sure its set up to automatically detect proxy settings. More than likely you are not on a proxy server. I hope this assist you. John

what operating system are you using and how old is your laptop.are you using wireless or DSL direct signal line.many times its the router, have you tried to rest it.
