May be a proxy server problem if your using windows then By using your Windows VPS as a proxy server you will get the best performance and have the most control over the proxy. Setting up your Windows VPS to work as a proxy server is simple, all you need to do is install proxy server software, such as CCProxy, and add a rule to your firewall.

SOURCE: My netbook could not connected

To make sure your computer is trying to use the proper connection you need to go into Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections Tab > and select never dial a connection. That way windows will only try to access the internet via your wireless or cable LAN connection. Also you need to make sure that you are not set up to use a proxy. Go into LAN Settings on the Connections Tab and make sure its set up to automatically detect proxy settings. More than likely you are not on a proxy server. I hope this assist you. John

How do you disable automatic configuration ?

Hi Timothy,
You may want to try this steps:

If Google Chrome seems to take a long time to load a website or search, it may be configured to access pages through a web proxy. Check whether the "Resolving proxy" message appears in the lower-left corner of the browser window.
Follow these steps to change your proxy setting (for Windows):
  1. Click the Chrome menu snp_9721c573e41777fba43e1498ad084e3b160c_2696434_en_v2 on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Show advanced settings.
  4. In the "Network" section, click Change proxy settings. This will open the Internet Properties dialog.
  5. Click LAN settings .
  6. Deselect the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox.
You can also visit this link for other solution for this issue. Hope it helps.

I can't get my LAN settings to automatically detect settings, box will not check.

Reset your proxy settings
Proxy servers, or proxies, act as intermediary servers between a Web browser and the Internet. According to Microsoft's website, proxies are mainly used by networks in companies to enhance the security and speed of their network connection.
Proxy servers can also be used to log Internet usage, mask the network address of a server or to apply global restrictions to a network.
Internet Explorer is set to automatically detect proxy servers by default.
You can reset the Internet Explorer proxy settings to their default settings from the "Internet Options" configuration.

I have found the easiest way to do this is to add the menu to the top of a webpage.
Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help
Click on tools option then from the drop down list Internet Options
Select the "Connections" tab, and click the "LAN Settings" button.
Delete the proxy server address and port from the "Proxy Server" settings and clear the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" check box.

Clear the check box beside the "Automatically detect settings" and "Use automatic configuration script" options in the "Automatic Configuration" section of the "LAN Settings" dialog window. Click "OK."
Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save these changes and close the "Internet Options" dialog window.
Close all Internet Explorer browser windows for these changes to take effect.

Make sure that you have the proxy disabled in the lan settings: Top right wrench tool button --> Options --> Under the Hood --> Change Proxy Settings --> LAN Settings --> Uncheck use Proxy server for your LAN. Hit okay. Close Chrome, open it back up and see if that works.

MSN Message error 80048820, unable to signin

Problems:
- While you try to Sign in MSN Messenger you getting an error message with the no. 80048820
- Unable to Sing in

Probably reasons-
- Your system time/date incorrect
- Internet Proxy setting incorrect

- Firewall does not allow to access, etc.

Solution-

Step#1

- Remove Internet Explorer proxy server settings and check the 'Automatically detect settings'.
- Launch Internet Explorer, click "Tools" and then click Internet Options. From the Internet Options dialog box, go to the Connections tab. Click LAN Setting. Uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN checkbox. Finally tick/check: 'Automatically detect settings'.

Step#2
- Correct the computer system's Time/Day as current (if required).

Step#3
- Click Start (Button), and then click Run, type regsvr32 softpub.dll click ok.

Step#4
- Turn off the firewall. Check firewall settings such as Norton: "Block access to secure sites". If this cures the problem, make sure that Microsoft's MSN Messenger is allowed full access through your firewall.
