Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor
My Xerox XL765 17 LCD monitor is displaying wavy lines in the picture, like some kind of vsynch/hsynch problem.
I have replaced the Ac adapter and changed outlet sockets here at home and at work.
the picture is visible IE I can see the start button and my desktop ok, but the wavy lines move up and down making hard to focus on the screen.
I removed the VGA input card and saw that a capacitor was bulging so I got a new 1000uf 6.3v cap and soldered in place, but the problem is still happening.
I can always buy a new VGA board from Xerox of $50 or a new inverter for $60. But this is a 17 inch LCD, I don't know that I want to put any more money into it unless I know what to replace or possibly fix ??
Supposedly Proview has made this model for xerox. Maybe that could spark some ideas ?
I had this same prob. For me it wasn't the monitor but the video card and or mobo. I tried monitors on other comps adn worked just fine. Tried comp on 4 monitors and same prob. bought new mobo and problem solved. New prob fixing mobo and or video card
