SOURCE: resistor on power supply board

Dear Biigjohn, First, first C613 means that it is a capacitor, not a resistor. And It seems to be a electrolytic Capacitor. If it has burst, then it's can will be inside. just search. the details of the Capacitor will be on it. most likely it will be a 10mfd 160V capacitor. Check and replace.

SOURCE: TV power supply problem

.01 mf 2000 volt. in flyback circuit .it is a timing capacitor. the red high voltage block is bad and that took out the capacitor. also check the horizontal output transistor...it is probably shorted.

MY PS3 WONT TURN BACK ON

Hi,
Either power supply problem or blown surface mount fuse on the main board. First check all SMD fuses on the main board, and the fuse on the power supply board. If the power supply board fuse has blown replace it and try again, if it blows again you need to replace the power supply. If the power supply seems OK check all SMD fuses on the main board. There are 7 on the V3 and about a dozen on the V4 / V5 / V6.
Good luck...

Tv in standby mode will not show picture

it's a power supply fault, if its an LCD or Plasma TV you may be able to buy a new power supply board online. (usually about £80-120)

if your handy with electronics, you may find a blown resistor or capacitor on the power supply board.

be carefull though, the PSU board stores high voltage electricity even when unplugged!

Sony color TV model kv-c29 11d blown power supply ic and transist

There should be circuit designations printed on the PC board. Without those, there are too many possibilities to give you anything useful. Can you provide those please?

Thanks,

Loud bang, unit stopped working

I have seen the caps in the power supply vent, which means they get hot and the top pops up and splits open, resulting in the "bang" sound. If you have experience in electronics then remove the back of the set and examine the power supply, looking for any caps whose tops are bowed upward, and replace.

Sony TRV240E Digital 8 Camcorder - DEAD!

It could very well be a blown fuse, and if you have some experience working inside these devices you can open it up, give it a try, and you might save a little on repair costs. Pull out the power supply board, and look for any obvious burns. Fuses are marked with a prefix PS on sony devices. check if they transfer current, if not - order new ones and see if replacing them solves your problem, or if it spread further. Good luck
