You must move the remote sensor close to the base unit to reset it and it will work fine. After it shows the temp then you can move it back to its location. thanks for asking at Fixya.com.

SOURCE: I have a 433MHz cable

You have to push some buttons to tell the MAIN unit to scan, then put battery into the REMOTE, set channel, and hit reset through a little hole. And the MAIN should see it.

I have a Digitech XC0436 Weather Station.

Remove the batteries from both units for a couple of hours. Replace the indoor unit battery and then the outdoor battery. This will effect a reset of sorts. Don't forget your rainfall can be different to someone 600 meters away. Having said that 100mm / 4 3/4" difference is a lot.

My figure has DigiTech XC-0366 wireless weather station is not collecting the outdoor temperature

Your 'figure'??

Normally it has to be done in order. Remove both lots of batteries. Put the base unit batteries in first and then put in the outside unit batteries. they should pair. In fact the manual states that.

Instructions:
- Open the battery compartment on the weather station and insert 2 x AA
batteries, taking care to put them in the correct polarity. Close the battery
compartment.
- Open the battery compartment on the transmitter and insert 2 x AA batteries,
taking care to put them in the correct polarity. Close the battery
compartment.
Note: Ensure to install the batteries into the weather station and transmitter
within the same hour to ensure that they synchronize properly.

Why can't I receive input from the outside sending unit?

Make sure that all the batteries are good!!
This procedure outlines the typical process to pair the sensor and base.
Base Station Battery Installation

·Remove the printed vinyl label from the LCD screen of the base station
·Position the remote sensor near the base station
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the base station and insert (2) AA batteries according to the polarity markings. Replace the battery compartment cover.
·Within a short time the RF signal icon (located to the left of the outdoor temperature channel indicator) will start flashing. This indicates that the base station is ready to pick up the RF outdoor temperature signal from the remote sensor. It will continue to flash for 3 minutes or until the signal from the remote sensor is detected.

Register the Remote Sensor
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the remote sensor and slide the channel selector switch to your desired channel. For the first remote you may select any channel, for additional remotes select any unused channel
·Insert (2) AAA batteries according to the polarity markings. Be sure to install the batteries in the remote within the time that the RF signal icon is flashing on the base station. 1541 WeatherGuide Wireless Weather Forecaster with Barometer

How do I reset the time on my smartgear weather station

I have two of these and they lose the signal occasionally. Per the manual: Make sure all batteries are good and then press the TX button on the remote sensor for 3 seconds so it sends a wireless signal to the weather station. It should beep. Then on the weather station hold the CH button for 5 seconds to make it search for the transmitter until the outside temp appears. Just removing batteries and reinstalling them in various orders doesn't work. You must re-establish the wireless connection between the outdoor sensor and weather station.

Acu-rite atomic clock squeaks periodically, why?

I had the exact same problem, and found the answer on the Chaney Instrument FAQ page. There's no real solution, but here is the explanation:
Q: My wireless weather station periodically beeps, why?
A: Make sure that any alert and/or alarm features are deactivated first. Constant, sporadic beeping is generally due to the unit’s ability to detect a foreign radio frequency of another wireless unit when that unit transmits a signal. Wireless devices that may cause beeping but are not limited to these devices are; scanners; computers w/wireless keyboard/mouse; or other wireless weather instruments. Essentially, any wireless devices transmitting on a radio frequency have the potential to interfere with each other. Limit the amount of wireless devices to lesson the chance of interference. When beeping occurs, one device will need to be deactivated.
