Question about Pentax Cameras
It worked fine. I took the batteries out to charge. It would not turn on with my rechargeables. I put in regular batteries. It will now turn on and take pictures, but won't keep the time and date. Every time it shuts off, you have to reprogram it.
In most modern cameras is a little rechargeable battery, that keeps the clock ticking. If your camera was a long time without power, perhaps this battery has died. I would buy a new set NiMH rechargeable or recyclo batteries, because they have a bit less capacity, but can hold power for as long as a year. Then charge them and leave the rechargeable batteries in your camera. Keep your fingers crossed, perhaps the little clock battery will be revived?

Try resetting your camera. In picture taking mode press menu. Go to setup, go up to reset, press right arrow, make sure reset is highlighted and press set.
Then TAKE OUT MEMORY CARD. Go back into menu, go to setup, go up to format, press right arrow and highlight format, press set. Input ur date and time again and then power off and back on. If that doesn't help then you have to send into repairs. 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2 and they will tell you where to send it.
