SOURCE: hp dv2210us power goes on but just black screen, not booting up

You could have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp, follow this to determine the fault.
To determine if you have a LCD screen problem, read this and follow the instructions.

Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom:

  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Take out the battery and try running it on the power adaptor alone. If this works, you have a dead battery. If not there's something more serious wrong in the machine.

Looks like the tech is right. HP now only gives you the option of seeing the num lock on or off by using the HP software on your computer.

I am assuming your motherboard is fried, but your Hard Drive is still OK. The laptop may not work anymore, but your files are more than likely recoverable.

Hp pavilion laptop bad video out color distorted

This sounds like the usual HP problem. Commonly the graphics chip overheats on these and eventually goes. To verify this:
1.) Check using an external monitor, if thsi works ok, fault is with the VGA cable on the laptop or the screen
2.) If fault persists, the issue is with the graphics chip. In which case, strip the laptop and clean out the cooling fan, matrix and (if you feel confident), remove the heatsink assemnly and clean and replace the heatsink compound on the CPU, ensure that the thermal pad on the graphics chip is intact and tighten the screws thoroughly.

If that fails, I'm afraid the graphics chip will need reballing

hi

memory dump is the result of bad memory module (RAM).. remove the ram modules, look at them, make sure they are same make and part. different manufactures can often cause memory fault in a system

if that's the case, replace the memory modules . you can go to the link below and select the model you have, go to KEYWORD selection, and select MEMORY DIMM, it will then give you the part number you need to replace .

if you need more help, please don't hesitate to issue 4 thumbs and i will give you further details and cost of the modules. you can easily purchase at a link i will issue at that time.
