Question about HP Color LaserJet CM3530 Multifunction Printer

Open Question

HP Color Laserjet CM3530 Grey Shading on whole page

Shading covers the entire page except for a small 1/8 " border around the page. At first I thought it was a bad toner cartridge so I replaced it with a new one. That didn't fix the problem so the next thing I tried was to put one of the other color toners (I tried yellow) in the black toner slot and the black in the yellow slot. This time the background shading was yellow instead of black. It seem that whatever cartridge is in the black slot produces the shaded background. Anyone have any suggestion as to what this might be? Thanks for any help Tony

You're right about the cartridge and I suppose cleaning it means all the toner that the generic cartridge dumped. Turn off the machine, take out the cartridge and use a vacuum cleaner and a soft brush to get that extra toner out. After that use a soft cloth (not terry) to wipe down the inside.

SOURCE: HP Laserjet 5P shading edges of page

This is probably due to a defective cartridge, Charge Roller or Transfer roller.

Check the cartridge for a band of toner still on the drum.

Check the Charge roller for oil or smudges, this roller should be a lighter color and should be relatively free of toner or marks.

Same as the Transfer Roll, which will be dark, though excess toner should be evident.

A relatively smooth straight line is generally the cartridge.

A rather wavey or broken line is most likely the rollers.

You can however attempt to print a large amount of pages (25-50) in an attempt to clean the parts, however if either part is defective they will need to be replaced and no manner of printing will clean them.

How to remove gray shadings in the background of my printouts for my printer hp color laserjet 5550?

Grey shading likely due to either bad black cartridge. Try a different cartridge first thing. After that, print a PQ quality test page from the control panel to see if they defect shows on all pages. If it does then you may have a bad transfer belt.

We are getting some markings on the printed pages. All of the rollers have been cleaned except the top one. What is the best process for getting into the top end of the printer to access the rollers...

The problem is weared hot roller. It is a steel sleeve with teflon coating, rolling around a ceramic heater. You have to replace it. To reach it you have to remove the back cover, side covers and the upper cover. It is possible with some bending to take out the upper cover without removing the other covers, but you will have to remove them later anyway. To remove the upper cover, remove the grey plastic part first. There are four screws under it that hold the cover. There is a flat cable to the control panel. Remember to attach it when assembling.
The fuser unit is under the cover.
Disconnect the wiring and remove the screws of the fuser. Then remove the entire fuser unit. Take it to another table and dismantle it.
Cleaning this roller will not help. Replace it or don't bother to dismantle if you will not.

Border in each column

Follow this steps to achieve that.
  1. Click on the column you want to have a border, On the Page Layout menu click Borders
  2. On the Borders and Shading window go to the Borders tab not the Page Border tab
  3. Select the borders you prefer then on the Apply to: drop down select Paragraph. Click ok then your done.

HP 2600n grey background

Most Original cartridges are starter cartridges that hold only 1/3-3/4 ink. Drum maybe defective, and this usually causes the grey or black in your printing. Cartridges may need replacement along with the drum. Hopefully this helps

Format highlight problem

Sounds like you have a background color on that text. You have to remove the shading from those paragraphs. I don't have office 2007 to find the exact function but in 2000 it's in the format menu under borders and shading.
