Question about Panasonic DVD-LS55 Portable DVD Player with Screen
The unit will not read the disc. I can turn it on, but will not continue playing any disc after displaying code H02 on the screen.
Thanks for any advice from the experts....Alberto

In line with the other Panansonic DVD players, the error seems to relate to the internal drive machanism getting stuck.
To fix you just need to carefully take the back off (disconnect power source first!), locate the drive cogs for the lens machanism and give the a couple of turns. Also a blast from a air can will help get rid of any dust build up. Pop the back cover back on and you should be working.
Looking at the other Panasonic threads on the site, this may happen on a regular basis especially as the unit gets older (and the crud builds up).

I read about removing the cover and spinning the motor by hand. It was suggested without power. I found that I had to have the unit powered up when I hand-spun the motor, then everything worked perfectly... we'll see for how long.

Spindle motor in DVD mechanism require replacement, not practical to repair, just buy new one, upconverting DVD player would cost you less then repair of your old one.
