It's either computer connector problem, or charger connector cable problem, or broken cable, or broken charger, or loosen connection between wall cable and charger, or charger to wall cable, or battery problem.....
if it runs, but not charging, I assume it can be battery issue...

Could be an actual problem with the power suppy ( power brick ) thats the first thing I would check.

How to test a power brick
If your power adapter is dead, then replace it. If its not then you have a problelm with your power connector which could need re-soldering on the motherboard, or you could have a problem with your computers motherboard.

Good Luck!

Hello! It seems that you have a problem with the laptop charger connector. It maybe in short circuit. You can try to look for some electronic workshop that works with reballing, BGA solder, etc., that might change it. In Portugal we have some, so I think in other countries you can find them to.

The DC jack in the laptop is a common source of trouble, from no power to intermittent operation. The computer will need to be dismantled down to the motherboard level to access the part.

Hello,

There are two very common faults that often cause this.

One is a damaged cord on the charger.

The other is a damaged connector on the laptop.

You will need a volt/ohm meter to test the charger. If you don't have one perhaps a friend does?

If you think you may have use for one inexpensive models are available and are fine for simple jobs and occasional use.

The charger's output voltage will be listed on the charger body. Look for something like:

OUTPUT: +19V 2000mA

For your purposes all you need to know is, is the charger putting out the proper voltage and is it steady?

If the charger is working then it is very likely the connector on the laptop.

These are not difficult to fix if you have experience repairing laptops.

Most computer repair people do this all the time for a reasonable set fee.

Hope this helps

Battery is not charging when plugged

It is critical that you report early problems immediately to the manufacturer, some like DELL have a 15 day return policy. Otherwise you must follow their warranty repair instructions. Could be the battery, the charger or the motherboard.
