Hanns HL269DPB monitor, I use this monitor for a secondary screen with my laptop. When the VGA is connected there are zero issue. However, when I power down the laptop or unplug the VGA the monitor just started flashing different colors and does not stop until I unplug it. I tried holding the power button for more than 10 secs, nothing. I tried hitting the menu button, nothing. I have searched online and did not find my issue anywhere. Any thoughts? A new one is $199, just thought I would ask instead of spending money.

SOURCE: Flashing green LED on my Hanns-G HX191D

Common problems on monitors are due to capacitors in the power supply/inverter circuits failed, you need to open it up and look inside for caps with bulging top/seal first and post back what you see so we can guide you further, see failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Using notebook display and external monitor: HP Pavilion zd8205us primary display is garbled, secondary display is clear and good, It doesn't matter which display device you set as primary or secondary

try to switch the blue VGA cable that is connected from the laptop to the external monitor. You may also restart your laptop and set aside the external monitor to check if the laptop is still experiencing garbled display... If it still is, then it is a monitor issue and need to address to HP personnel by calling HP hotline. Otherwise your issue will be resolved by simply doing that..

No display

Try replacing the VGA cable if it is not hard wired to the screen. Check that the CPU is not sending an out of range signal (i'e. To Low / To high) Hope this may help.
