Question about Electrolux Ovens

1 Answer

Grill gas comes on but on release of grill knob, the gas goes off.

We recently bought a 2nd hand Electrolux oven, over 3 months ago so outside the warranty of the shop. When it's a double oven, with the top oven combined with the grill. When you turn the gas on for the grill, hold down the knob, it will ignite ok but when you release the knob, the gas goes off. There is supposed to be a short time where you hold it down before the grill gas stays on but now no matter how long the grill is alight, it won't stay on after the knob is released. The oven side is fine, though, so I think it's something to do with the heat sensing node but don't know how to fix. Any ideas please?

SOURCE: Flame will not stay lit in oven of countrychef 100g

Yes very simple. There is a bulb the flame is heating with a small tube that runs to the gas valve this is the saftey sensor that is bad called a thermo-couple , they are common to go out and should be easy to find online. Let me know if you have any other questions.

SOURCE: grill will not stay on when I release the knob,

hi, sounds like the thermocouple, when heated it produces a small current to allow the gas valve to stay energised. they can break, so the current cannot pass through. hope this helps

SOURCE: westinghouse oven LPG 527 wont stay alight and grill wont start

Normally the grill is completely separate to the oven. Press the ignitor before you turn on the grill, as, to ignite, oxygen needs to be present (ie: not flooded with gas) . and you should be able to see the spark from the ignitor in the grill. if you can't, then you may have problems with your ignition pack or ignition leads.

Looking for a manual for Whirlpool BS0801/WH oven

I have a paper copy of the manual - if you need to know anything more than the information below post a more specific question.

The function symbols on Knob F, clockwise from the top, are as follows:
  • 0 = Off
  • Lamp symbol = Lamp Only, no fan, no heating.
  • Fan + Drip Symbol = Lamp + Fan, but no Heating - this is for defrosting.
  • Fan inside a Circle symbol = Lamp + Fan + Oven Heating - this is the normal cooking position. The temperature of the oven is set on the Temperature Knob.
  • Final position = Grill. The temperature of the Grill is set on the Grill knob.
The red indicator light only comes on when the Oven is heating (not the Grill), and goes off when the oven has reached it's set temperature.

The bulb is 25W 230V Type E-14 300 Degree C.

The oven draws a maximum of 2300W so requires a 10A supply.

I have recently moved into a new house and the oven settings on all three dials have been wore away and cant see which setting to use for cooking

Hello,
The control on the right is for temperature,0 to 275 degrees centigrade.50 is about at 2 o, clock and 275 is about 9 o, clock.Middle dial is for the timer. The left hand one is your functions.at 2o,clock is the light. At 3o,clock is conventional oven top and bottom elements heat.5o,clock is the top element for browning.7o,clock is the bottom element for crisping.9o,clock is the infra red grill for small stuff one element.11o,clock is the full grill for all.12o,clock is off.If you need to order the knobs the part no. is 3303563831. cost € 21.36.

Hope this helped.

STOVES fan oven - inlet fan on regardless HOB GRILL or OVEN

It is correct. The exhaust fan comes on to exhaust any heat.
The oven fan is for more even baking.
