As soon as the camera senses the battery does not have enough power, to save a picture you take, it will shut itself down, preventing a memory error. Because if the voltage is to low, no reliable access to the memory is possible. Be aware that in extreme warm or extreme cold the battery can't produce enough power.
Your camera will work with AA batteries.
Always be sure the batteries are charged.
Insert the batteries correct plus to plus and minus to minus. Only one battery the wrong way around and the camera won't work.Check contacts of the batteries and in the battery compartment of your camera. Dirty or oxidised contacts can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Never use sharp tools to clean contacts or anything in or on your camera.
Always charge the batteries before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period.
Also check if the battery door is closed correct. Most cameras do have a switch connected to the battery door. If the switch does not work correct, it could be you can't switch on your camera.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in your camera. They can't deliver enough power and can start leaking, causing damage to your camera.
Always charge the batteries together, so they have the same charge.
Never use different kind of batteries together. The best is a set not only of the same brand and capacity, but also form the same batch.
Only one poor cell can spoil al the fun, because the total voltage is quick on a critical limit, shutting the camera down.

SOURCE: Coolpix 775 shuts off all by itself

The auto shut off should be around 30 seconds to allow the built in memory to store everything and rest.If it keeps repeatedly turning off and then on again in a short space of time it will use alot more power from the batteries just Like a car engine uses more petrol stopping at traffic lights. The other factor, I am repeatedly typing on this site is Digital cameras need to run on rechargeable batteries, If you are already using rechargeables, have a look at tha mAh value which should be written on the side. Retailers recomend a value of at least 1800,personally i would go for 2100.

Canon elph 100 hs can't take pics

The manual is explaining how to work when you can't shoot pictures on page 181 and 182. To much to repeat it here. The manual is still online. But the shooting could be too much for your battery. As a precaution the camera shuts down. Try to recharge the battery. If that does not help, or perhaps you can take one or a few pictures before it shuts down, you know your battery needs to be replaced.

How to turn on toshiba satellite M300 laptop from hibernating mode

hi shirleygty, is that automatic hibernation (the computer hibernates by itself) or manual hibernation (by pressing the hibernate button)? If either applies to your case you might need to update the BIOS information for your computer to fix the power management issues on it. You can get it here. Just run the file, click install & choose Install From Windows. Make sure you don't have any BIOS password or any external devices connected to the computer. When the update completed successfully, your computer will automatically restart, then try hibernating this time (manual or automatic). I do recommend setting the hibernation to 1min. at the control panel > power options > change when to turn off the display. When it hibernates, pressing any keys or the power button should wake up the computer.

Hope this helps.

Card not initialized

Kyle850. I have a fujifilm finepix camera myself, and just recently had the same problem. The camera worked fine until one day I turned it on to take a picture and there was the "card not initialized" message. To fix the problem, just turn on your camera, push the menu button and use the right/left arrow buttons near the zoom button in the top left corner of the camera. Push the right arrow button until you come to the "option" window in the camera's view finder and use the "up" function of the zoom to highlight the "set-up" window. Press "ok", and use the right arrow button scoll over to the "2" tab and press the ok button again. Then use the "up/down" function of the zoom button to scroll down to the "format" tab. Press ok button again and use the "left" button near the zoom in and out button to highlight the "ok" option in the format window. By pressing the ok button here, it will reformat and reinitialize your picture card. If you do have pics already on your pic card, you may want to take your pic card to a photo center and see about recovering these pics before you go through the reformat process because there is a good chance that when you reformat your pic disk any pics on it will be gone. Good luck. SG

Mustek DV-3500 DV Digital Camcorder /keeps turning off

Be sure the batteries are not the rechargeable types.  I had this problem when I first got my camera about 4 years ago.  Also, try adjusting the quality settings for the functions.  For example, set the photo function at normal rather than fine.
