Question about Frigidaire Dishwashers
My Frigidaire Professional dishwasher makes a beeping sound to signal the end of the cycle but the sound scares my dog. Is there a way to turn off the beeping sound?
I noticed these instructions on the fixya website.
If you wish to eliminate or reduce the volume of the end of cycle beep you can do so by powering off the unit and turning back on while holding the right button "Cancel/Reset". The beep has 3 volumes levels and silent, press the right "Cancel/Reset" button to cycle through the settings. Power the unit back off to save you setting.
Hope this helps.

No longer "ultra quiet" huh?
A sound during certain cycles indicates a broken part. By the information provided sounds like a pump may be the problem. You may need to contact a service tech about this issue. If the appliance still under warranty, the service should be provided for free.
Every time when you hear noises (other than the normal ones) in the appliance, it indicates there is something wrong and it will worsen over time, so as soon you hear something is not ok, get assistance.

SOURCE: want to stop buschh dishwasher
To turn off the cycle completion signal on a Bosch dishwasher, please do the following:
1. Press and hold the right "CANCEL/DRAIN" button then press and hold the "ON/OFF" button
2. When the light above the "CANCEL/DRAIN" button illuminates and the beeping starts, release both buttons
3. Press the right "CANCEL/DRAIN" button repeatedly until the tone is at the desired volume, i.e. silent
4. Press the "ON/OFF" button again to confirm/set the desired volume.

Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description " makes squealing sound almost like beeping at the beginning of its cycle "...it is likely to be either the pump impeller or the inlet valve.
With the Bosch built line of dishwasher`s this is a known problem...the carbon ring ( spring ) of the impeller pump seal kit. ( make sure it is indeed a SHU9915UC before ordering parts )
**Most common in units not used regularly, i.e. in a holiday cottage or vacation property, but time to time on daily used as well unfortunately...but also due to the heat from normal wear & tear**
You first must determine which is the source of course. Does the noise begin after filling with water and the pump starts, or does it begin upon the filling of water ?
If it's the valve, make sure the water supply line is completely "open" and if so replace the valve with part #425458
If it is the motor wash impeller squeeling It can be remedied by one of two methods, replacing the entire motor & pump assy part # 442548...
This retails between $99.00us. to as much as $170.00us. depending where you look. I usually go through "searspartsdirect.com" for about $100us. ( you can also investigate "repairclinic.com" or "appliancepartspros.com" to name a few.
Or if you are mechanically inclined, replacing the pump impeller kit. part # 167085
The kit is typically around $50 -$75us, hence it can be cheaper when factoring labour for the complete motor/pump assy.
This is a pretty involved repair to explain, in fact I think it is harder to explain than actually do...but I`ve done many.
If you`d like to provide me with an email address I can attach a file in "pdf" showing you step by step how you can do this without much cost at all really...likely your time will be the greatest expense.
Let me know how you`d like to proceed and I`ll help in whatever manner I can.
Thanks for choosing FixYa and Good luck.

Testimonial: "we are still carefully listening to the sounds and its timing, we plan to change the impeller soon time permitting and will inform about the results"
Tips for a great answer:
Good Afternoon Tie, thank you for your inquiry!
From what you have described your Frigidaire dishwasher continues beeping a sound every few minutes even when the power has been shut off. It sounds like this could be a possible issue with your control panel or keypad. I would recommend performing a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. I hope this information is helpful for you. -Matt
