Question about Oliso TG1600 Iron with Auto Shutoff

Open Question

Iron leaks and now no heat. Too expensive to be broken so soon. Can the heating element be replaced.

Turned on iron and it heated up slightly and then started leaking. Now green light flashes but no heat produced. Seems like this is a common occurrence for this very expensive iron with a short life. Probably the cost of replacing heating element or whatever is preventing it from heating would not be cost effective. Advise appreciated.

SOURCE: my iron does not heat up

The most likely cause is a faulty temperature sensor. The Iron is most likely shutting itself off because it believes that it is already at the correct heat. The less likely scenario would be a faulty heating element. In either case you will not be able to fix this yourself.
Check that the Iron is correctly plugged into a working outlet as that often tends to be the solution we all miss.

SOURCE: iron does not heat up

try to open the terminal box of your flat iron use the ohmmeter test one prod on line one of service cord of plug to line one if you got a resistance or continuity it means line one of your cord is ok together with the line 2 test it possible your cord damage or try to test the heating element if has a resistance it means good or try to adjust the setting on rotate knob or fuse busted replace it.

Bosch iron TDA76 light comes, on no heat

Hello, welcome to Fixya!

The problem is either from the heating element or a disconnected/loosed wire.

Get a screw driver disassemble the iron and check for any visible wire disconnection or burn. If all wire connection in the iron are intact, then it means the heating element of the iron is defective and needs to be replaced.

Good luck.

My iron's MODEL: 14977Z The iron's red light is on but won't heat to iron. was working a couple of hours ago

This is typical of a iron, it is cheaper to replace than to repair. The heating element is broken.

My Oreck Cordless iron stopped heating. The "Heating" light on the iron lights, but there is no heat.

Check and test this possible fault:
- Blown fuse
- Faulty or broken thermostat
- Broken power cords
- Broken heating elements

Hope helps.

My iron will not consistently get HOT.

Hi.

The clicking sound is given by the solenoid that turns on and off the iron element. Heating cannot be turned on, and the iron keeps clicking without making any heat.

The cause of the problem can be a defective solenoid, a broken contact, or an open thermistor (it will turn the solenoid back on). The oven must be taken apart and tested to find the fault.

Regards.

I have a DX 6700 that does not come on when plugged into the outlet.

Hi.

Either the wiring to AC power line is broken or the heating element is broken.

The heating element is tested taking apart the iron, disconnecting element contact, and reading impedance on element contact with a multimeter set at Rx1. If the element has no continuity (circuit open), then the element must be replaced.

If the power cord is fused (like for example in UK), check also the fuse in the power cord, try replacing it.

Regards.

Euro-pro EP1005 iron--iron heats -blower works-but no steam

You may not need a new iron, my wife's iron is doing the same thing. take the top of the ironing board off (you will need a torx t-20 security bit driver), under the tank is a connection that may have rusted out re-connet it and turn the iron on. Once it heats up, check the tank for leaks. The tank may need to be replace as well or try a 5-minute epoxy type glue on the leaks once it has cooled. If the tank leaks you will get not get enlugh pressure building up to get the steam.

Rowenta DX-8800 will not heat. Location of heating element?

The heating element is incorporated in the base. Rarely is the heating element bad. Its usually a connection or control problem. You cannot just replace the heating element.
