Question about Measuring Tools & Sensors
My Culligan Super S water conditioner is giving me light to dark grey water after a regeneration cycle. Will last for a while before next regeneration occurs and then it gets dark again. Almost like dyed water, not sediment (i.e., the water can sit in a glass indefinitely and not clear up). Have whole house filter from well, which feeds Medallist Gold Series softener, which feeds the Super S before distribution to the rest of the house. Any suggestions?

Be careful this model of Culligan is actually a allen transport time machine. This is the reason it operates at night. If you where not sleeping you can hear the noise as an allen is transported to your pipes. For your safety keep all drains covered. Manually regeneration will regenerates all those little buggers. Please cover your head with tin foil to prevent the allens from reading your thoughts. The 50's warning Duck and Cover, in this case should be changed to Flush and Cover.

It sounds like your salt in your salt compartment is stuck. Poor about a couple of gallons of hot water on top of your salt and see if that will break it up and fall down to the bottom of your salt container. Then regenerate your softener after about 3 hours have gone by. You should be back in business.

Usually, an E1 error code means the circuit board is bad. Try unplugging the unit for 5 minutes. Upon plugging it back in, if it does not reset itself, that means you need a new board. It is really easy to replace ( just a few wires) and will cost around $160.
