The freezer not working , it make a noise for about 10 secs and then stop , im at your mercy , if you know of any solution. thanks

if the noise is that short sounds like maybe it is possible the compressor relay is bad... if your hearing a click at the end of the noise then most likely you either have a bad compressor relay or the compressor itself has failed.... this unit is common for having this problem and your short post i would say by the description that is what it would be... access the rear of refrigerator and plug it in again after it has been off for at least a hour or so ..there will be a cover at the bottom that can be removed to access the compressor area... plug unit in and place your hand on the compressor and listen if the noise is coming from there then you will need to replace the relay on it....good luck to you..

Problems with GE GSL25JFPBS Side by Side Refrigerator IS THAT THE FAN RUNS BUT IT IS NOT COOLING AT ALL, KEEPING HEARING THIS CLICKING SOUND AND THERE IS NO SOUND FRON THE COMPRESSORS.

Hi, I have done commercial refrigeration for many, many, years and no about residential units also. What you need to do is to roll this unit out to get behind it with room to work. There will be a fiber like panel that has to come off. The clicking noise you are hearing is on and off every so many minutes give or take, Like, click pause click, a few minutes same thing. Anyway, remove this panel. You should see a small fan motor, a coil, and the compressor. Make sure the unit is plugged in and the thermostat control inside is set at its coldest setting. If it has been on for sometime and clicking, carefully place your hand on top of the compressor as it should be HOT! The clicking noise you will be able to here at the small cover on the face of the compressor covering the terminals and wires to start it. It also has a klixon relay wired in the common wire that when the compressor gets overloaded, it will click and keep the compressor from starting. It will continue to do this until it finally wears out. So, hearing this click and your compressor is hot to the touch, more then likely, you are loosing the compressor. Depending on the age of this unit and the cost of a tech changing it out, may or may not be worth it. Try this, unplug it. The small fan and coil, try and clean the front of the coil with a brush to remove all the dirt and dust buidup. Let the unit cool completely down. I have wet cold rags in the field and put on the compressor to speed this up, but be careful not to get water in the electrical connections. UNPLUG IT FIRST. After it is nice and cool, try to turn it on. If it starts, thats good and I cant say how long it will run. If it does not, the compressor is dead and locked up. A repairman may put a hard start kit on it to try and break it free, we do try this first, but it may be to far gone. Check the coil like I said and let it cool down. Hopefully it will run, but probably not. I hope this has given you some direction to follow.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

Fridge keeps making "clicking" noise and will not get very cold

the clicking noise is probably the unit trying to start but it cant because its too overheated, try turning it off for about 30 minutes to cool the compressor down, then put the thermostat at 3 for the fridge and not the coldest for the freezer and leave it there for a few hours to stabalize the temperature and see what happens.

GE model GTST2BPLWW

they all have fans the freezer does all the cooling for the whole unit there is nothing in the bottom unit that cools the freezer fan blowes air from the freezer down to the bottom and draws air to the top if you dont hear the freezer fan running and there would be no doubt in your mind if it was then pull the fan cover and see why and let my know hold my rating till we are done please
