Hey mate, check your wireless router mode. If you're using the newer model which supports wireless N technology then it might have accidentally gotten activated. The thing is most mobile devices support older mode such as b an g. So make sure you check on that. Just leave it on mixed if you're not sure which one you should use.

Dear Sir, There is no provision of fixing my laptop to a wireless router. Can anybody advise how to convert this "laptop" to enable getting wireless connection of internet?

To connect to the Internet you need a few extra things aswell as a network or wireless card and install the LAN or wireless driver.
1. You need to sign up with an Internet service provider.
2. Connect a LAN cable from your computer to the DSL or cable modem
3. You need a DSL or cable modem and connect and configure the modem to inaccordance with your Internet service provider's instructions.
4. Install Internet Explorer if it has not been done.
5. If everything has been done correctly, when you open Internet Explorer youcan access the Internet. If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem then -
To connect to yourwireless router, the router needs its wireless settings to be configuredwith the SSID, encryption key etc., also the wireless cards in all thelaptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

New Laptop will not connect with wireless

try setting it on wep with 128bit encryption.. the new certificate programs doesnt do well with out it and aswell as it doesnt perform well on wap settings so a user-certificate based authentication would be optimal for the windows 7 and most secure aswell youtube, google, and your routers websites will help you get a firm understanding of how it works

Hi, I wonder if you can help? I have a wireless-G ADSL2+Gateway and wish to use another laptop aswell as my own. When attempting to connect the 2nd laptop, it will not allow it, and there is a lock symbol...

The settings for these instruments are more or less same. I am using a product from netgear.
I can suggest you to check the access control list (ACL) in security settings of your wireless-G.
Initailly disable access control of wireless-G and allow all the devices (laptops or PDAs etc) you want to connect. From the "attached devices list" you can find out the devices of your own. Put the mac addresses of those devices in the access cntrol list. Then enable access control list of wireless-G and reboot it. Now all your laptops that were added to the ACL of wireless-G should be allowed access. Hope this solves your problem.

Yes, you do need a modem (DSL, Cable). This router does not function as a modem.
