Wireless connection Hi,I am having problems getting my laptop to work through the wireless router -- modem connection. When the LAN network is disconnected there is not connection to the internet, although there is a wireless signal registering on the toolbar of my laptop. The computer would connect to the internet with both LAN & wireless - presumably through the LAN network, now it won't do this, I have to disconnect the wireless connection. Please help!Thanks- K

I have deplugged the router and working from the modem to my desktop computer, which does not work whilst the router is pluged in.

I have de-plugged the router to enable me to use the internet on my desktop computer via the modem.

Is there anything I can do so that I can use the internet on my laptop and desktop computer without de-plugging?

My wireless router and MacBook Pro worked fine. Then the computer battery got low and when I recharged it, the computer won't connect with the router. It says an error occurred when trying to connect to the Belkin 45 network. When i did the diagnostics, it asked for a security password, but I've never had one. And it won't let me set one.
btw, the router is only a month old.

I know it is not my airport card. Both my laptop and imac desktop say strong signals. I am writing this on my daughters ether net. I can get it to work sometimes and then it wont. Very frustrating! Unplug getting good signal just wont connect. Tries to get through to Safari but gets stuck. What the heck I am going crazy. I had it working last night. Blue cord in blue port 3 other white in 1 worked fine last night on imac desktop with airport card but not laptop but not my daughter's mini mac which i am writing on right now works fine, last night no working for hers last night.

Chk if you are able to ping the router ( Start - Run - cmd - ping ip address of the router  ) . IF you can do this when you are wireless, you will know if your card is communicating with the router.
Alternatively, carry your laptop to any hot spot to chk if its the wireless card in your laptop or your router thats causing the trouble. Atleast you can isolate teh issue with this.

If you have a exterior modem from a company like at&t or verizon, you don't need a router. The modem will work for your wired connection and to laptops wireless. You just need to change settings on the computer,or call the phone company and they will talk you through it.Take the router back and get your money for it.

Hi , plz guide me to connect my laptop to belkinRouter.

Hello,

To begin with connect the Modem to the Cable/DSL/ADSL slot on the router and connect the computer to the LAN slot. Now run the disk given with the router. Enter your ISP settings and your internet would be working wired and wireless. Now connect to your wireless network using your laptop/wireless computer. Find the belkin network and connect to it.

Hope this helped.

I have a dir-615 router and have been able to establish a wireless network but cannot get the network to connect to the internet.what can I do?

I assume you have a cable or a DSL modem connectec by a LAN cable to the wireless router.
Have you checked you with your ISP to see if the connection yo your modem is OK?
Have you check the LAN cable from the modem to the wireless router is good and it in plugged into the WAN/Internet port on the wireless router?
Have you installed the latest wireless card driver in the computer/laptop?

For instructions on setting up the wireless router and the wireless card in the computer/laptop, please follow my instructions - click on this link :-

I own a HP DV9000 my wireless quit working

Check the Device Manager to see if the Wireless LAN device is working and enabled. If not reinstall the Wireless LAN driver.
If the Wireless LAN is OK and enabled then sometimes when you bootup the Wireless LAN card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. This usually has a red X on the wireless connection icon and sometime you get an error message "Limited or no connection".
To get the router to issue the wireless LAN card with a new IP address, righr click on the Wireless icon and click on Repair.
You can also power down the router wait 15secs and power up the router again then reboot the computer.
If it still doesn't work you could have a faulty wireless card, see it your friendly computer shop can test it for you.

My wireless modem doesn't appear on 'connect to a network'

You may have to configure the router and change some wireless settings to get it to work, goto the router configuration page, (run ipconfig /all, at a command prompt, to get the "ip address" for the rotuer config page, I believe it is the"Default Gateway" that you would enter in the address bar of IE to get to the page, (the pass will be user:Admin, Pass:Admin, orPass, or Password, or 12345 on some older ones) then click on the wireless menu's from the left.
I hope this helps, if so please give a fixya rating if it solves/helps solve your problem.
P.S. The router itself may be broken, and LAN may still work while WAN will be not working, usually buy a new router.
Thanks,
Gomez

Wireless connection

You should be able to reset the router.look on the back and see if there is a small, paper clip size, hole. Reset it back to default and try to reconnect.
