If you freeze the beef while it is still fresh and it is frozen solid the whole time it should be alright after 1 year, but I wouldn't eat it after 2 years.

I need to know it okay to eat a ham that been in the freeze for a year I got from a job I never open it up I just put in the freeze how long before it not any good to eat

If it has been frozen the entire time it should be safe to eat. Most anything that has been continually frozen should be safe to eat if cooked and eaten soon after thawing it out. Bacteria is what spoils anything and bacteria cannot multiply in a frozen environment. Depending on what it is,how long it was frozen and whether or not it was exposed to air while being frozen will determine whether or not there is an undesirable change to the taste, color or texture.
The best (safest) way to thaw anything out would be slowly in a properly working and set refrigerator.
Your ham should be OK,especially if it was frozen in its original plastic packaging without being opened or exposed to air before freezing. I have eaten previously frozen hams and turkeys (in their original packaging) that were in my freezer a lot longer than one year... and I never noticed any difference in taste.

Hi
Food are not that bad after defrosting that long and again frozen. It also depends on how good you know your food as the taste might differ.

Found some cube steaks in the freezer from 2010, are they safe to cook & eat?

Personally, I would not eat them. 1st, do you know if hey have been defrosted & then re-frozen in the last 3 yrs? (NOT GOOD!); 2nd, even if you did eat them, they are probably "freezer burned," & would taste awful. Hope this helps!

I had a power failure and my amcor fridge/freezer, with 3 stars, was off for 17 hours. Is the food still safe to eat(meaning if it defrosted and got re-frozen

If the food defrosted then no its not safe to re-freeze, but if the door was kept close then it should of maintained a frozen state.

Took 12 minutes to heat up a roast beef sandwich (not frozen).

Hi there!
My guess would be that the magnetron is faulty. If you have a testmeter, unplug the terminals on the magnetron and measure between the body of the magnetron and either one of the terminals. There should be no reading. If you have a reading it is faulty. Then also check the High Voltage Cap. Cylindrical shaped metal item with two terminals. I would replace the Cap anyway. It's 9 Years old. Conclusion: Magnetron is faulty, runs Hot and then switches off the machine on the Thermal switch(located on top of the Magnetron). No problem with the food. Be sure to unplug the Mains before you check it out. The Cap may also still be charged so do take precaution. Good Luck,JUS004
