First: don't do anything with your memory card till you have recovered the pictures, just remove the memory stick from the camera.
There are programs to recover pictures on a memory stick.
Use an external memory card reader, where your Memory stick fits in. Connect the reader to your computer and try one of the free programs on one of these sites to see if your pictures are still on the card and if they can be recovered.
Some free programmes, will show all pictures you can recover, but only allow you to recover a limited amount. Just try another program. I once got a free program, Recoverx, with a memory card I bought.

SOURCE: Video Format

If your computer has a SD card reader, you might be better off putting your memory card into your computer and just copying the data.

Have you made sure your iPhoto is up to date? Perhaps a new update caused this problem.. Maybe you should try an older version of the software. Also, you might want to try other software. (I think you are on a mac?), you might want to try the software that came with the camera, if it works on your computer.

Windows cannot open fileI have SONY DSC W55 cyber shot camera. My laptop is dell inspiron and I am using Windows 8 operating system. When I connect to camera to PC it shows as USB device has connected.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

My camera not showing my picture when i connect to the computer. on the screen word USB mode, mass storage, memory stick display. i have a sony Cyber-shot DSC-S750/S780. And my computer not pick-it-up

You need to install software from the cd which had been provided along with the camera. Then select USB mode option and then you can get photos and videos in the camera onto your pc. Software installation is a 1 time process and next time onwards you need to connect the camera and select USB. Most of the information will be available in the camera manual.

Cannot Download Photos

I'm forwarding the manual of the Camera here.
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCT10_QSG.pdf

or
If you have the manual of the DSC-T10 Camera please refer to the page number 64.
Then, set the USB CONNECT option to PTP. Then, try transferring the videos.
Please make sure that the Camera is not connected to the Computer while performing the steps.
After performing the steps connect the Camera to the Computer which should resolve the issue.

DSC-N1 display different when downloading photos

You say 'When I attempted to download photos to my computer, it doesn't show the display USB Connecting or the Cancel button. All it shows is a big dot in the middle with four directional buttons.' Not sure where this shows. Does the camera still take picture and upload them OK? Come back
