Red flashing lights in viewfinder. Replaced batteries. Still flashing. What is wrong?

Have shot two rolls through very good condition fm3a. Then flashing lights red in viewfinder. Have replaced batteries but still have flashing lights top left of view finder between plus minus sign and flash sign. Is this the flash ready light which has come on without reason ? Have never mounted flash.

SOURCE: dark view in view finder

Sounds like a lens diaphragm problem ( lens stays closed down to F16 and that is why you have a dark viewfinder ). Remove lens and see if you can activate the aperture mechanism via the activator which protrudes from the rear of the lens. You should get nice and brisk action from the aperture . If the movement is sluggish or the lens stays fully closed then your lens needs attention.

You need to have the camera serviced. It sounds like you shutter may be sticking and any loose part should be an instant red flag. It had to come from somewhere and it could be related to your shutter delay problem.

All shutters do have a certain tolerance. Because you don't say anything about the real time the shutter is open, It is impossible to tell what camera has a "correct" shutter time. Or if they both are of. I used to calibrate my camera's, because most of the time the next time is exact twice or half of the former time on the dial. Even with the band new cameras in the past, I shot one or two rolls, to check if my settings were correct. Never had any trouble with shutter times, because I never checked how long the were open.

How to know if battery is low?

When you turn the power ON (turn the dial from OFF to AUTO), in the viewfinder a green lamp on the right will light for about one second, this indicates battery level is sufficient.

So, it's not possible to know how much longer the battery will last etc, best to carry a spare battery.

As a rough guide, the manual states the shooting capacity is 18 rolls of 24-exp film with 50% flash use.

Hope this helps :)

No motor when switched on and 2 red lights flash

Your Sebo has switched itself off to prevent damage. The flashing red lights indicate that the brush roll is jammed and that there may also be a blockage somewhere. You should take the brush roll out and make sure it is clear of obstruction, and also check for blockages (in the inspection flap on the underside, and in the plastic pipe and the flexible hose), and check the condition of the filter in the bag compartment. If the brush roll is clear and the problem persists, you should seek help from a professional repairer as something is probably broken inside (although with Sebos this is extremely rare). Good luck!

Flashing Red Light....

The flashing "boat" in the middle of the viewfinder just means the button battery is dead. Camera will still work. It's the little pull-out light grey plastic thing that's next to the heel of your right hand when you're using the camera normally. You need a CR2025 cell.

Camera not taking pictures

The camera may be trying to tell you that your flash is turned off in Auto mode, but to get a proper exposure you will need the flash turned on. Try turning the flash on and see if that works.

Hope this helps!
