This isn't a question about computers, I am unable to assist you. You might try a local college.

Whereas I appreciate your inalienable right to free speech, can't you just go somewhere less public? (perhaps your bedroom) - that way you'll just be wasting your own time....

Tip

Public speaking with a lectern

Many public speakers who are used to speaking without a lectern find it a challenge to speak with one. Speaking properly and naturally from behind a lectern will make you a very well rounded public speaker, so you are ready for any kind of public speaking gig. A few simple tips that you can practice will make you a much better speaker if you are used to giving over keynotes rather than lectures.

When you stand behind a lectern make sure that you plant your feet firmly. If you tend to shift from foot to foot or lean on to the podium this will give your audience the impression that you are nervous or anxious. Practice standing up straight and tall will give the impression to the audience that you have confidence and know what you are talking about.

Don't think too much about what to do with your hands. Many speakers try to choreograph their hand motions with their speech, but that will start to look staged. When you practice your speech find a comfortable place to put your hands, whether resting on the lectern or gripping the sides. Forget about moving your hands and the gestures will just come naturally making you look more comfortable with your speech.

Print your speech in a large print or on note cards with large spacing. If you are giving over a long speech with figures or numbers and a lot of information, using large print will make it easier for you to find your place should you forget what comes next in your speech. Although you shouldn't be reading from your notes, having them will give you a little more confidence than not but don't rely on them too much.

Practicing with these three tips in front of the mirror at home or with a friend in the lecture hall that you will be speaking will help to improve your public speaking skill dramatically.

When i have to speak in front of even 20 peoples i shake that i can not say what i need to say and the bad part i;m a manager at work

Public speaking can be difficult; there are several techniques to use to help you get over the stage fright you feel, meaning the fearfulness and nervousness. Many will say to imagine them in their underwear; although this may help in some situations, other times it can cause you even greater embarassment and stress( in example, if there is an attractive person there and....well, you know!)
I suggest you take some deep breaths and prepare what you want to say beforehand, in writing, on small cards ( like cue cards). Explaining that you feel nervous talking in front of groups will help, since most of them also have the same problem and they will all be sympathetic to you. The cards will help you to remember exactly what you need to say, as well as keep on track.
Start off by just reading the cards. As your comfort level increases, look up from the cards and look slightly over their heads, or glance briefly at each of them as you read. Relaxing as you go will help - as well as remembering most of them have the same problem, whether they admit it or not. When I first started playing music on the Worship team at church, I was nervous and made mistakes - but I kept on playing. Its been over a year now - I still make mistakes from time to time, but I am getting better. I really enjoy this Ministry, and public performance ( and speaking) is getting easier everytime.
I hope this helps - GOD bless and thanks for using Fixya!!

I need an example of a speech that need to made during the stakeholders function as an mc

All though I am good at giving speeches and trying to keep people interested, for something like this you would have to do this yourself. You're speech is specific and requires a knowledge of what you are discussing. Examples of speaches can be found online but you will have to Google and search for yourself and then make your own. My advise would be to stick to any important, relevant subject matter, keep each point entertaining, interesting but short. give enough detail to get the points across without droning on for too long. Explain things in a way that is easy to grasp but don't treat your audience like idiots. Make the speech flow and sound natural, maybe record yourself reading it and listen back so you can hear how you sound. Make your speech flow naturally so it doesn't seem like your just reading off some cards. This is the best advise I can give based on the limited amount of info you provided. Good luck. Cheers.

I have an HP webcam and would like to make a speech for public speaking class. What do I do now? Seriously need your help. Thanks!

There are many video call conferencing applications that you can use for conducting your speech. You can use Skype or even Yahoo! Messenger 10.0. Just make sure you have installed the HP webcam and properly configured. All you need to do is call the other party and start a Video Call.

Sad to think people can post rude, crude and ugly remarks on face book for everyone to see just because they are angry. A recent post about my deceased father was uncalled for and these remarks should be...

There are rules that facebook is implementing for proper posting of message on the users wall especially if its public viewed. If you find some racism or hate speech posted on a wall of a certain person and it is shown in public, there are 3 ways where you can stop (or possibly block) this person from using their facebook account.
1. If the person turns on you, you can block him/her from seeing your profile or interacting with you in any way. On the Account menu, select Private Setting. From the Block list, click Edit list. You can type in the name or the email address of the user you want to block and click the Block This User button.
2. If the person is posting hate speech or indecent words against another person (in your case, your father) report his profile with his hate speech attached to your report. On your homepage, click the name of the person that post the hate speech comment, to go directly to his profile page. Find on the lower left part of his page the Report/Block this Person button, click it. Leave a check on the two box associated with Report this person. Choose the reason that best describe his/her remarks. Choose the locations where the remarks is posted and click the link. Leave a check on the box associated with it and click Report.
3. If a link was posted directly from your wall, you can check your e-mail inbox and find the mail associated with that remarks. On that message you will find a link to Block that person.

Thank you for using Fixya.

I have a problem with my webcam sound. I recorded my assignment speech and when i try to listen to the speech, there was no sound coming out from the webcam. i tried everything and nothing worked. Can you...

Hi chinonsobeau,

First off, you to list the model number of your HP web Cam, as well as your OS, and the software you using to record your sound. I will assume that you have Quickplay which HP ususally send out with their web cams.

To access QuickPlay, just press the "blue QuickPlay button" next to the power button. If it doesn't load QuickPlay, just do "Start" - "All Programs" - then you will see QuickPlay listed there. If you still can't find it just do a search, you will find the short-cut. If you still don't find it, then HERE is a place you can download it and use it. It also has instruction on how to use it.

Or sometimes HP sends out Cheese, another camera software. You can download that HERE.

These are the instructions for QuickPlay:

Once launched QuickPlay, click on the 2nd icon from left (between DVD and TV icon), then double-click on "HP Pavilion WebCam" from the left side panel, then you will see the blue LED light lit and you should see yourself on the screen. (Double-click "yourself" to enlarge image)

To take a picture or record video, just press the corresponding buttons on the top. (the red circle icon is for recording video (press "Stop" icon to stop recording), the camera icon is for, well, camera)
Videos and pictures are saved at:
Pictures -- C:\Users\Public\Pictures\My Snapshots
Videos -- C:\Users\Public\Videos\HP Webcam

I'm less familiar with Cheese, so I'll give you their website HERE to go to their support and they can guide you through their program.

Anyway, I hope this helps,

Don't forget to leave a raing,

Thanks

Mark
