I will give you some tips
1- If the power light goes from green to orange) this is almost always an issue with the computer and not the monitor
2- If the monitor power light turns off, then it is almost definitely a problem with the monitor.

there are some reasons your monitor turning on and off
01-One reason the monitor could shut off is because it is overheating.
02-If the power cord is loose and is not securely connected to the back of the monitor it will cause the monitor to turn off.
03-If the monitor is staying on, but you loose the video signal, it's very likely an issue with the video card or motherboard in the computer. This could also be an issue with the computer or video card overheating or a defect with the video card.
04-Another reason the monitor could shut off is because of a malfunction in the circuitry. There could be a short in the wiring or some other failure in the circuitry, causing the picture to go black or causing the monitor to shut off completely
05 another reason the monitor on and off is because your monitor power supply chipset is damage

hope that it will help you

The Power Button LED flashes green only, and I have no VGA connected, I just see the "VGA not connected" test box and the menu in between flashes of the Green power LED. I am experienced with soldering, having learned SMD soldering with 1027 component cirucits and hand soldering console modchips. So if there is a diagram of common issues that would cause it to rapidly turn on and off flashing ONLY green, then it would help greatly. I am also considering that it might be the button board itself, and will test with a multimeter and test circuit.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

My PS3 wont turn on it just flashes a yellow light then red light that beeps cant get disc out

I found a way to eject the disk:
  1. Power off the PS3 on the main switch on the back of the console
  2. Press and hold the Eject button
  3. Turn on the main power switch
  4. The PS3 LED will go green and the fan will spin at max speed
  5. Wait a few seconds and press the eject button a couple of times, the disk should now eject
  6. watch the PS3 die after 30s or so…
This procedure did not fix my PS3 but at least I got my disk back before sending it to Sony for repair.

Dell Dimension 5150 automatically turns off

That flashing amber light is usually a sign the power supply is failed or is failing. I would suspect the power supply is the problem in yours. It is the better of the two problems connected with the flashing amber light..the other is motherboard is failing. Arrrr!
hope this helps (it takes a standard- oh say 350 watt 20-24 pin power supply unit.)
Hope an answer helps.
Please leave rating, thankyou

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 and it won't boot up. When I turn it on the green power light comes on and hard drive activity light flashes however no fans come on, the screen doesn't show the Dell logo or...

i would have to disagree with jerry, while that seems reasonable if the motherboard fan isn't running at all then whether or not the video card is ok is somewhat irrelevant.
I would agree somewhat though, i think the PSU might be a good thing to check to see if it is functional.
when you power it on does the CPU fan start or shudder at least ? that would be my first guess for a problem if you had been having any problems recently
