hello usually on any pull start, you have to wind the spring inside, the cover, on my atv i put the rope on the pulley burn the end of the rope and make a point on the end of the rope. put the pulley back in the case, turn the pulley backwards untill you get a lot of tension on pulley and turn the case up wright where you can see hole where rope comes out, turn pulley untill you see end of rope through hole. fish rope out with a pair of tweezers or a pair of themostats

Husky rototiller

Without a tool for it, its slow and difficult. Put the hook on it in the little opening in its hub. Wind it in an inch at a time. Be careful. It will probably fly out a couple of times on-till you get it right. Don't let it hit you in the face. Good luck. Also, watch the way the rope pulls to wind it in the right direction.

My skull candy ink'd left bud broke apart, how to re-wire it.

The wires inside the cord have broken, Unfortunately there is really no easy way to fix it, they don't solder well and replacing the cord is the only option but this also may not be successful. Replacing the headphones is the only proper solution

I think this is common problem for headphones. To fix it you will have to solder cord's wires back to plug. If you have tools and some experience you'll be fine

I have a pair of tp-1a headphones. The headphone jack broke off. What do I do to replace it.

If you want to fix it yourself go to and buy a new headphone plug. You can go to radio shack, but their headphone plug is very large but you won't need to solder anything. Cut the wires and strip off the plastic. You will see very small wires coated in red and blue if I remember correctly. You will need to separate all little wires so the colors are together. The color coatings need to be removed. Put them in the flame of a lighter for just a quick second. The coating will burn off. Scratch off the excess with your fingernail.

You will need to plug the new headphone plug into an ipod and touch the wires to the connectors to figure out which wires are for the left and the right speakers.

Solder the wires to the new headphone jack. You will find the partsexpress jacks are much better than the original.

If you use the radio shack plug you may want to put a little hot glue with a glue gun around the wires before you close it put or the wires will pull out easily. The parts express plug, link below, has a tight grip on the wires and there is no need for glue.

you know the cord is broke? and you wish to remove and replace the broken one? well it has to be opened to remove or reconnect the broken wiring. is there screws attaching the removable parts in order to get to the broken cord? recommend you locate broken wires and reconnect each wire to its color either white and black. and use electrical tape to cover each wire reconnected.

Skull candies only work when i move the cord for a little bit

Sounds like one of the wires got pinched and broke. Check the wire for any spots where the insulation ripped open and tape them up with electrical tape and try it again. If that doesn't work you'll have to buy a new pair of headphones.

Each of the rubber covered cords running to each ear piece has two fine strand wire bundles inside. The right ear piece has a red colored strand and a copper colored strand. The left ear piece has a green colored strand and a copper colored strand. The wires are coated with an insulation lacquer. The lacquer burns off when you heat the wire for soldering.

Repair item: 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, shrink tubing

Plan for strain relief:. These headphone wires can't take any tension at all. You need to crimp the black cords to the headphone jack somehow.

Slide strain relief and headphone jack housing over the over the rubber covered headphone cord.

  • You need to plan a way to relieve the pulling stress on the solder joints where the two headphone cords enter your replacement headphone jack.
  • Try shrink tubing if you have it.
  • If you have some thermal shrink tubing, slide a piece over the headphone cord end before stripping the wires.
  • Slide the headphone jack casing over the headphone cord also.
Strip each headphone cord 5/8" using the 18 gage setting of your wire stripper..

Hold each headphone cord in a "third hand" soldering assist tool and tease the green, red and copper bundles apart..I wore a 10x Magnavisor and I used a sewing needle and a bright light.

Twist the copper colored strands from both headphone cords together. They are the common ground wires. The copper colored bundle will attach to the headphone jack ground.

Apply a dab of solder to the end of each of the three bundles of wire. You will see and smell the insulating lacquer as it burns off. Keep most of the wire bundle cool.

Position the two strand headphone cord and the 3.5 mm headphone jack in the third hand soldering stand.
  • Plan where you can crimp the headphone cord. Crimp it when ready.
  • The green == left channel wire goes to the tip of the 3.5mm jack.
  • The red==right channel wire goes to the middle of the 3.5 mm jack
  • The copper colored wires go to the ground of the jack..
  • Measure resistance, 31 ohms per earpiece.
  • Screw the jack cover on and finish the strain relief craftsmanship.
