No image in eyepiece

I first looked at the playback thru the eyepiece and there was a line across the picture that looked like a crack in a mirror. I opened up the viewer to see if I could find anything. The small strip that looks like tape with wires in it looked damaged. When I re-assembled it, I got no picture at all. Can I get a new eyepiece assembly or the tape strip to fix the problem?

This is extremely old technology - replace it, as parts and service will not be available.

I get light, but no image seen. What could it be?

Sounds normal on mirror scope. Sounds like not focused. You have to be looking at a DISTANT object and focus .

We receive more complaints on this scope than any other brand. You never said which model you own? Is it a refractor or a reflector style???

Read this page and look at the pictures. Notice a refractor has a lens in the front and the eyepiece in the back.

The reflector has MIRRORS and the focuser end is on the UP end of the telescope-- the mirror is the BOTTOM of the telescope.

Sony TVR68 camcorder--Playback mode works fine. In camera mode, I have no image in eyepiece or LCD screen

Hi obx4ever, If this helps, the CCD was a problem I had in a lot of those camcorders and only replacement cured the problem. Only a sony authorized service centre will be able to replace the CCD for you. The CCD is a closed coupled device which generates the image that you see in the eyepiece and LCD screen when in picture mode. Michael.

Cannon PowerShot A80. Pictures come out with red tint and what appears to be horizontal lines across complete image. However, record video without problem.

If camera shows previously taken pictures in playback mode and does notshow live view to take fresh pictures then it is ccd imager chipfailure. CCD imager will be replaced in your Canon A80 camera.
Canon offers free of cost ccd imager replacement, click Canon CCD Imager Advisory for details.

Things are upside down looking thru the eyepiece on main telescop

If things are upside down in your telescope, you probably have a reflector telescope.it has curved mirror in the sealed end.take off the cover near the finder and point in the general direction of what you want to see.Make adjustments with the stuff on the mount. If you are viewing terrestrial objects, you will need an inverting lens to correct the image. It is called a Barlow lens and is much longer than the other lenses that come with the telescope.Good Luck

Good Day, Hazardsneon;
A cracked mirror will have GREAT influence on the quality of your picture and will look like the TV is experiencing a convergence problem. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Celestron colmination

There should be 2 sets of adjustments to be done. The first is to sight from the eyepiece holder, and see if the diagonal has the back mirror centered - don't be concerned about the off-center of the main mirror. Once the diagonal is centered, then use the adjuster screws to bring the main mirror into line. Adjust first one way then the next (in or out). When done, your eye should be centered in both mirrors. Then align the finder, and away you go.

Nikon D70 Repair

Well, it depends on the extent of the repair. You don't necessarily need to repair the crack on the chassis, just the damage to the eyepiece components. Yes, it's worth repairing. Those D70s are just the right tool for people who want fine art pictures from a camera simple enough for a novice to use. The eyepiece is your most important resource when you're shooting, so you really want to make sure that it works as well as you do!
