Most of the time you have defective door switches that make the fuse blow.

Both washer and dryer (MDG5500A) dead except for drum lights.

I am afraid there is no breaker or fuse inside the machines that will cause the control panels to go dead. You can check your power to the boards at L1 and neutral. If you have the proper voltage here but controls are dead, you will have to replace the control boards.
I notice in your problem heading it stops at the word except. Except what?
Thanks/mike

Toshiba 32c100u dead; power supply board replaced but still nothing

Have you checked whether mains power reaches the power board? Check it first. If yes, the power board you purchased newly should be checked.

Kitchenaid superba double oven, stopped working everything dead, breakers not tripped. does not respond to any control.

Open the lower oven door and remove the 2 screws on the left and right trim pieces. Be careful not to drop the trim pieces and bend them. Locate and remove the screws on each side of the control panel and push up on the panel gently to get it off the hangers. Behind the control panel is an over heat fuse that has popped. It plugs into a harness on the back side of the panel. This trips/breaks it's connection from either the oven over heating the cleaning cycle or just from age.? Once fuse is replaced you're good to go. Hope this helps.

We have magic chef Over the Range Microwave Oven Model: MCO153U. Microwave was dead and no power

The original problem, was probably caused by a bad door switch along with the fuse, now there is a good chance the control panel is damaged, you will need a professional to assess if the item is worth fixing.

Control panel is dead. cycle stopped after rinse, water still on the bottom....help

Check for 120V (breaker). Look for loose/shorted wiring connection at the dishwasher's junction box. Check all wiring connections to the control panel, electronic control and thermal fuse. Test the continuity of the thermal fuse (part # 8193762). If that's ok, you should replace the control panel or the problem is likely with the electronic control board (part # 8564546).

Good luck.

No power ,completely dead

the fuse may be bad.if u r somewhat handy. you can try and fix yourself . fuse can usually be purchased at a home improvement store. 20 or 15 amp fuse. un plug unit remove top grill usuallly two phillips scews in the grill or 2-3 screws on the top of the microwave frt. next remove front control panel usuallt 1 screw at top of panel . once the control panel has been removed you can look inside that area and see a fuse, its ceramic usually white or grey and sits in a fuse holder. you can test it if u have a meter. should read resistance if good if no reading it is bad. replace it with same volt youtook out. if you rather a servicer doing it, then could cost anywhere from 65.00 to 105.00 to fix in home. if u take it in to get repaired then 85.00-125.00 depending on were u live and who u use. do it yourself for around 2.00-5.00 for fuse.always check power to unit first before you repair . use a extension cord to same outlet and see if that appliance works.hope this helps you.

GE JES1344SK01 countertop microwave, no power

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

It may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille or on the floor of the oven behind the control panel or between the door switches.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO) / thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open.

Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

When checking TCOs or thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat, that should read open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

If the cavity thermostat needs to be checked or replaced you'll need to pull the oven from the wall, in which case you can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

You should do a continuity test on the fuse while it's in the holder (with the microwave unplugged, of course) then turn the fuse by hand or take it out and put it back in, then test it again.

If you remove the fuse, then press the meter leads against the ends, it can allow internal contact to be made and make a bad fuse appear to be good.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams by entering your full model number here. Once you have the part numbers, though, I would suggest ordering parts here at a much lower cost.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
