How to remove the red handle and how to get to the fuses

You can't. These transformers aren't user serviceable. You can thank the Federal Government for that. If you can find the special tool to remove the case, you'll be able to open the transformer. For service, contact Lionel customer service or take the transformer to a Lionel Service Center.

Lionel legacy will not run more than 2 trains

see pages 44 & 45 of attached pdf to figure out your power requirements for all locomotives, lamps/light bulbs & accessories.
compare total needed to power output of your transformer, if total is less that output of transformer, clean wheels, roller pickups & track.
if total is greater than output of transformer, you need more power/larger output transformer. lean wheels, roller pickups track.

What gauge power wire is needed for a RCI63ffc4 it will be 20 ft long ?

The size of the wire is determined by the load it needs to safely carry. This can be obtained from the manual or the supplied fuse size. Once you have found this value, multiply it by 1.25. This means a 10 amp radio will be 12.5 amps. A 30 amp radio becomes 37.5 amps. A 60 amp radio becomes 75 amps - and so on. This is REQUIRED to prevent the wire being used at 100% of its capacity, which would cause it to heat up. Enough heat will cause insulation to burn. Insulation comes into play below. Use the chart linked below - and use copper wire.

http://www.cerrowire.com/ampacity-charts

In order to use this chart properly, you need to determine the insulation type. Different types affect ampacities of the conductor. Typical "romex" wire (the stuff in your house) is rated for "60 deg C (140 degrees F)". Specialty wires THW, THWN, USE, XHHW, THHN etc. are rated at "75 deg C (167 deg F)" and / or "90 deg C (194 deg F)" and have a higher ampacity for the same size copper wire than "60 deg C (140 deg F)" wire as a result. If you do not know which insulation type you have, assume the lowest "60 deg C (140 degree F)" type. Look up the amps you calculated above for your particular radio in the "60 deg C (140 deg F)" column, otherwise look it up under the column with specialty insulation types instead. If the CALCULATED amp value is NOT listed, pick the next LARGER value. Follow it back to the LEFT most column to learn the SIZE wire needed with the same insulation as listed in AMP column.

If your radio was 48 amps, it calculated to (48A x 1.25) = 60A. If you don't have the wire, you can go to a store and say you need 20 feet of #4 copper wire with "60 deg C (140deg F)" insulation, -OR - #6 copper with THW, THWN, SE, USE, or XHHN insulation - OR - #6 copper THWN2, THHN, XHHN2 or USE2 insulation.

The values above hold true regardless if in a circuit that is 6 volts or 600 volts. You should increase the wire size (lower #) on DC circuits only if the circuit length is 50 - 100 feet or more. AC circuits can be hundreds or more feet long before increasing the wire size is needed.

I hope this was helpful & good luck. I hope you've got a ham radio license before you transmit with that radio in the 10 meter band.

42" Plasma 42PF5321D/37 will not power on. I replaced the fuse on the power supply board with a 3 amp (that's what it looked like, but I'm not sure it was the right size because it was burned

Always replace fuse with fuse value required If fuse value is less it will burn out . If you replace with fuse that is required and it burns out then you have bad short in power supply circuit In that case check bridge rectifier

Have a hartke lh1000 head . played about 5 total hours then blew the fuse. is this something i shoud be worried about?

If the fuse is correct ( check manual) it shouldn't blow under normal operation. Once in while a fuse will break internally and thus blow the fuse. look close at the blown fuse If it is a "violent" blow (totally black inside) then you have an overload condition. I would use an ohm meter to check the connection to the speakers. Usually it should be between 8 ohms and 4 ohms if the number is lower than 4 ohms your speakers or wiring are putting to much of a load on the amp. If the fuse was not a "violent" blown fuse then replace with a new fuse of the exact proper value. many amps use an MDL fuse that is a slow blow fuse and has much different in circuit function than a ACG fuse so use only the exact proper furse that the manufacture recomends. If the load (speaker and wiring) is correct and the fuse is correct and still blows then you have a component problem and the amp will need repair

Hi i am trying to find out what ampage the glass amps are thats needed for my sub

Are you talking about the fuses.....if you remove the cover on the sub..you can pop out the fuse and look at the end caps on the fuse...the amperage rating should be stamped right on the end cap...make sure you read the type lettering also...the type rating determines if it is a slow blow type or fast acting type...slow blow fuses are usually type "MDL" or "T" and regular ones "AGC" of "F"

Hello........ looking for a schematic for Bose 501 series 3 speakers. I need to replace the fuse in line with the tweeters.... its blown & does not have a value on it (unmarked, quick blow, twin lead,...

Did you find a solution? Dunno if it's much help, but I just today picked up some 501s - Series I I think - ugly heavy brown material grilles - but with a manual! No fuses in these, but booklet recommends installing your own in-line fuse holders (!?). Specifies a BUSS AGC-3 fuse for amps under 50wpc; or a MDL-2 fuse for amps over 50 wpc. Can be placed is series with either or the two signal wires. Very strange.... Robin

Is lionel 40 watt transformer from toy train enough power to run a dual motor larger train engine it just lites up and sputters

It would depend on what engine you're trying to run. The 40 watt transformer's circuit breaker will trip off if you put too large of an electrical load on it. If the engine light stays on while it sputters, the track or the engine's motor and electrical pick-ups may need cleaning. Older engines that haven't been run for a while can get stiff. Your engine may need some lubrication.
