SOURCE: Whirlpool Front Loader Dryer Door will NOT stay closed

I have the same issue with the door popping open. If you push hard on the bottom of the door then it snaps in. I think the bottom latch is broken or misalligned.

Washer might not be level. Use a level on the top and side to confirm. See user manual if adjustments are needed.

This is a joke. have a simple question & have to pay. just wanted to know how to adjust back leg on a whirlpool thin twin.

the back legs tend to get stuck after sitting in one place for so long.use a screwdriver and free both legs so both are down that should free it up so it will pivot and the back legs will automically adjust and level theirself (you will need to screw in/out front legs to adjust them)

How to level a Whirlpool Conquest refrigerator 2009 after moving it from a different house? The left front now wobbles.

To level your refrigerator:

Remove toe grill. Use flat-blade screwdriver or 3/8" socket wrench to adjust the front rollers. Or Turn the leveling leg clockwise to raise the side of the refrigerator or counterclockwise to lower it. Which ever applies to your unit.

Note: Having someone push backward against the top of the refrigerator takes some weight off the leveling legs. This makes it easier to adjust the legs.

Disconnect ac/cord,hoses and drain pipe, lay machine down on front side. Inspect the self-leveling bar ***'y and spray liberally with WD-40 if rusty and/or stuck.

How do you adjust the rear legs

Try lifting up the back end of the machine so both legs come completely off the ground. They will try to auto level themselves when you put it back down. Most of your adjustment should be done with the front legs though.

Whirlpool Duet washer is off balance.

My wife and I just purchased the Whirlpool 9400 series washer and dryer. We loved the pair, the installers came in and set them up ran them rather quickly and showed us the features and left. We put our first load into the washer, I will add, it was a rather large load, but nothing bigger than what the washing machine would handle. Started the washer up and walked away. About 30 minutes later we walk back into the laundry room to see and hear the washer rocking the pedastle door right out of the pedastle and then started to walk itself about 12 inches from the wall. This was very dangerous to us as we have a 14mth old. We immediatly called the store who sent another installer over. He again checked it for levelness and said that this is a known issue and that we should consider buying the cabrio or taking the washer and dryer off the pedastles.

So, to solve this issue, I'm sure you are all waiting. Infact, the washer was level, however, and this is what I found to be key, Lift the washing machine off the front legs, raise them up about a 1/4" higher than the back legs, this will make the washer uneven from front to back, but the other key is to make sure that the nut on the washer leg is all the way up and tight against the washer. In my user manual it said use a 17mm open end wrench to lock the nut against the washer, but my nut was a 14mm.

Again, make the front of the washer a little higher than the back and make sure all the nuts that are on the washer legs are tight against the washer or pedastle.

My washer went from the house ********, to the thing that doesn't make any noise at all.
