Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
I have DELL Inspiron E1505 laptop with a 5-way card reader(including SD card reader.) If I install the proper driver (downloaded the hotfix from Microsoft for Windows XP SP 3), should my system be able to read a 64GB SDXC memory card? Thank you! Greg

SOURCE: Dell e1505 SD card reader issue
You installed the driver for your card reader for the laptop. If its not recognizing any cards you put in there then that means the reader is bad and since that is integrated onto the motherboard, replacing the motherboard would be the only option in order to fix that problem.
