Grundig Amira 26 LXW Flatscreen TV

When I turn the TV on, it switches itself off immediatley.  If I am prepared to try again and again it eventually will stay on but this is quite frustrating!
Brought this TV just over a year ago and over the past month have been having the problem with increasing frequency.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem with Amira, but no solution yet. If somebody helped me with diagnostics, I could replace broken parts myself. I already opened the TV, but visually everything looked OK, only HI-POT condenser smelled a bit. Maybe this Hi-pot pass Rubycon 450V could be the problem? PLEASE, HELP!!!

SOURCE: LG TV

There is probably a bad capacitor on the power board, I had the same thing happen to my 42LB1DR after 2 years. T.V. would turn on and white power light would blink, no pictue and no sound. If your'e a diy'er, it is not that hard of a fix. Take all the covers off of the back of the tv(UNPLUGGED!!!), then look at all the capacitors on the power board. lcd_repair_4_bad_capacitors_lg.jpg
These are the capacitors, look to see if any of them appear to have a bump on the top of them. They are supposed to be flat, you can also tell if one of them has gone bad if there is an oily substance on the metal cover that was removed. If one of them is in question, carefully remove the board, and take it to an electronics store to have them sotter ?sp on a new capacitor. It ended up costing me around $40.00 to have this done. Good luck and if you are not comfortable trying this, than take it to a repair shop, but I was quoted around $450 to take the T.V. in. No Thanks

SOURCE: 3 YEAR OLD SANYO DP 32746. SHUT ITSELF OFF, CAN NOT TURN BACK ON

If you leave the tv unplugged for 2 days (atleast) then plug it back in and try to turn it on and if it comes on its the power supply board. If it comes back on it will probably shut off between 30min to 4hrs and you would have to unplug it for 2 days again. All the power needs to drain out of the tv. If thats the case take the back pannel off and check the part number out on the internet. Not hard to do becarefull touching things the power supply does store a little bit or shock in it. Good Luck.

Testimonial: "while we did not unplug the set, we let it sit for 2 days and we were able to turn it on by the remote & manually....does that still sound like P/S"

SOURCE: TV says no signal from direct tv box

Yes, something could have gotten changed.

Confirm what input connection the DirecTV receiver is connected to on the back of the TV. Using the remote, check that the TV has that input selected.

No sir its not just an adjust ment or "twiddling" It sounds like its one of the same as your girlfriends set except a differant part such as a capacitor in the vertical curcuit, Output IC or even a defective resistor?? Good Luck
