Cannot get the DVD screen to close. Got the DVD out O.K, now cannot go back to TV viewing. Thanx, Sue Reddell suzieredd@ymail.com

I would recommend powering off the dvd player and unplugging it. If the screen persists then the issue might be with the tv or the screen itself. Could be a simple setting. If that doesn't work, message me back with more details and I will see what I can do for you.

How u get it off the **** screen When i hook up my xbox its comes on but its on the left part of the screen & the right side stays blue

Good day!!!

Please try to input other device such as DVD player to determine which device (x-box) or (TV) need to set up full view settings..

If you play DVD and the screen is fine so you need to set up the full view of your x-box using remote..

If you play a DVD but the screen is still half..You need to set the full view of you TV using remote..

I you have more queries and clarification just add a comment..

Hope it helps..

Thanks for using fixya..

My picture seems oversized so when viewing it you cant see everything.

What source are you using? Cable Box? Cable tuner? DVD? Computer?

Most of the time your TV's remote will have a button that says "Aspect" or "View Mode" or "Zoom" they can stretch zoom and distort the screen and cause this.

If it is a DVD or Set Top Box you may have to go into the menu or set-up screen and change the aspect ratio to that of your TV.

Let me know if that helps, any more details would be great.

Thanks!

DVD WS does not display right on Samsung 40'' HD 1080P LCD TV

Check the aspect ratio of your widescreen DVD. I'll assume that your flat panel TV is widescreen, which would mean it has a ratio of 16:9. Some movies are even wider than that (i.e. 2.35:1), so it would be normal for you to see black bars at the top and bottom. Look for a WS DVD described as 16:9 (usually shown on bottom on back). This should fill your TV screen and not distort the image. If you still see the black bars, you will need to check your DVD menu settings for widescreen aspect, and supply more info on the DVD player and TV.

Full screen problem

These sets work best in their native mode. Your DVD player most likely cannot address the set in its native mode.

When not in the native mode, the aspect ratio has to be compromised.

You should call Viewsonic for more detailed information and if there are any offsets that you can adjust.

To adjust screen size, choose the View Mode feature on the top right of the remote control. Zoom size is full screen for watching DVD movies, but sometimes there is still a thin black band due to the formatting of the dvd (unless you buy full screen versions) S. Stretch view mode is best for TV Movies.(usually fills whole screen) Occasionally there are TV movies which just don't respond to being stretched to fill the screen, it's just the way the signal is coming through . 1080i/p detects the resolution of the signal and displays the same number of pixels on the screen, but a 720p signal input will be viewed in full screen.
