the new android phones require a 2 amp charge to fully charge the phone. some after market usb chargers only are rated for 1.5 amps causing the battery to indicate full the drop dramatically after only one call or a few seconds of use
I am assuming you just updated your phone Robert and if you have not used a smart phone before it is very daunting. One of the unknown things is using your finger. Unlike your old phone the smart phone is touch screen so drag your finger across the screen and it goes to the next page also touch icons on the screen to select. So if you want to call there will be a phone icon. They usually also assume everyone knows how to use a smart phone and do not provide a user manual.
find the model number under the battery
then try and find a user manual
Make sure you are connected to your WiFi network. If your network is not fast enough go to a friends house or to a cyber cafe (not recommend). Another thing is that your Google account might be having issues. Google's support is here: http://www.google.com/contact/ . If you need clarification or more help just let me know!
you can download the user manual from Fixya website goto
