Will a garmin gtm 20 charger work with a garmin nuvi 660 gps

Yes! The GTM-20 is a charger with a built-in traffic receiver. The charger plugs into the cradle for the Nuvi 660 and then the Nuvi 660 snaps into the cradle.

However to receive traffic with the GTM-20, you will need to purchase a subscription, either yearly or lifetime. The traffic receiver receives traffic information from FM radio broadcast stations, which broadcast traffic data.

Garmin GTM 25 charger cord has broken wire inside.

Most likely that is the FM antenna lead that goes to the traffic receiver. It should only be connected on the end that goes to the receiver.

You say the GTM-25 is not charging. Is the fuse blown? The charger takes +12VDC from the lighter socket and supplies +5VDC to the GPS.

My GTM 20 tip got unscrewed and the parts fell out. I put the parts together and then found out that both the car socket fuse and the GTM 20 fuse were busted. I replaced both fuses. The car socket works...

The GTM 20 can be repaired. It's likely that either you're not using the correct fuse or there's a short circuit. The short circuit would be caused by the metal tip, spring or fuse touching the outer part of the plug. There's a repair kit available from http://www.gpscity.com/garmin-replacement-parts-for-gtm2x.html
