Wat is my pppoe name and password

Most internet provider just set it to "obtain an IP address automatically" or "Dynamic" for both Cable and DSL. If you are using DSL, you may also be using PPPoE as connection type. You need to get this from your internet provider. It should be included in your account or if not provided they should give you one. If you are setting up a router do not forget to turn it off then on again after saving the settings made.

Keeps asking for pppoe settings ?

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

The Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) is a network protocol for encapsulating Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) frames inside Ethernet frames. It is used mainly with DSL services where individual users connect to the DSL modem over Ethernet and in plain Metro Ethernet networks.

This is a problem with you modem. You need to call your internet provider and have them insert it into your router and ask for your PPPOE settings. You may get lucky and be able to have them access it from there.

I've problem with my ADSL i can't access by wireless??? i don't know why???

Some DSL Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) Authentication to establish Internet connection with their end-users. This article will guide you in setting up the router's PPPoE feature.
NOTE: This article assumes that you already have the username and the password for your DSL Internet connection.

Step 1:
Access the router's web-based setup page. For instructions, click here

NOTE: If you're using a Mac, click here for instructions.

Step 2:
On the Setup tab, click the drop-down arrow for Internet Connection Type then, select PPPoE.

I can not get on the net via my router. I can get out on my laptop directly connected to DSL modem. what am i doing wrong?

That means your router is not yet configured for internet access. If you are on DSL, your modem's IP and router's IP might be conflicting with each other. You need to change the router's IP address. If not, you can simply configure PPPoE settings on the router's admin page. If you can open the router's setup page, look for Internet Connection Type, choose PPPoE and provide the information that it asks you like username and password given by your DSL provider.

New dir 625 with DSL-cat5 connection and NO internet on status.

If it keeps on trying to connect to PPPoE, try not to use PPPoE setting. Use Automatic Configuration or DHCP connection type.

Netgear wireless wpn824

Sounds link you need to setup PPPoE on your router. Not knowing who your ISP is, Netgear has this website that lists a lot of ISPs support on setting PPPoE up. that is located here: Netgear

If you can't find the info there, basically what you need to do is on your router, typically the main page, you might see an area that lists: DHCP, Static, PPPoE (or something similar). What you need to do, is select the PPPoE option and put your ISP login information (that is on your DSL modem now) there should be a connect or login button once your finished. Once that is done, your router does the logging in, instead of the modem.

Adsl modem not working

First you must have a steady led light on the on Power, Act and Lan, the Sync led will flash until the modem connects to the DSL line. If you are not running a router but only a modem, you will need to create a PPPOE network connection on the computer. If you are using a router with the DSL modem you will need to create the PPPOE connection only on the router. I had recently a problem with the DSL service to my home. My modem showed DSL connected but could not connect the PPPOE connection, the telephone company had to reset the circuit that I am on which fixed the problem. BPCS

PPPoE

If your have software from your DSL provider such as "WinPoet" or "Enternet300" or you need to run a program (other than your browser) from your desktop to connect to the Internet, then you will need to configure your router for PPPoE.
