We see the problem all the time here at our shop. The kindle usb/pwr jack tends to break off the main board. To fix it must be re-soldered on and hopefully reinforced.
Its a tough and tiny job but if your good with a solder iron there are many you tube video going through the repair. some videos are good and some not so much. We can fix it and ship it back to you for 69.95

I have a kindle that wont come on an its charge up

First off, I've had 5+ of that type of kindle. Each time the screen was cracked causing the screen to not turn on. If you see any lines this is definitely your problem. If so, you can either replace the screen or replace the kindle.

My kindle fire pg is sideways and will not turn upright..what do Indo?

You have asked about the Kindle eReader, but your question refers to a Kindle FIRE.

On the eReader touch the Aa button and select the correct orientation that you require.
On the FIRE drag down from the top to reveal the top MENU - select the CIRCLE icon on the left which is the SCREEN LOCK icon. Turn it off.
