You have the order backwards. Top order is categories such as FOOD or LIQUOR. Then comes Departments such as APPETIZERS, ENTREES, DESSERT. Then items like RIBEYE STEAK, BAKED POTATO, SALAD. And categories are entirely optional. They only come into play if needed to group departments on certain reports. They don't display, just departments and items.

How do i comp a specific amount off a bill in Restaurant Pro Express?


There are several ways you can do this. I suggest you setup an inventory item called DISCOUNT under the NONE department. Set the price at zero. Check box for PROMPT PRICE. When you use button, it will prompt for price. Enter amount of discount followed by "-". Be careful. This gives employees ability to punch in anything. You can set it up requiring special permission, then change employees permission to sell special items to NO. You can always set the price to a negative 10, but this limits your discounting ability. You can also put it on one of the customized buttons if you wish. COMP will not work for your scenario.

I can not change the menu keys to print out what I want them to read. I do not sell some items now and need to change hem


If you have raised keys on your keyboard, then you change the department programming, so go to the department programming section of the manual and edit the department name and department price (if you use fixed prices). If you have a flat keyboard with a paper sheet under it, you will have PLUs on the keyboard, so you need to use the PLU name and price programming section.If you have lost your manual, most can be found at C-tech:http://the-checkout-tech.com/

How do I set up an account?


The first thing is that you should describe your item clearly and completely. Check the ISBN, UPC or product number and make sure that ALL details match with what is listed on Amazon website.

Make sure that your price is reasonable. You cannot expect to sell an item in the price that you originally bought it. For books I would say you may expect getting 20-30% of original price. However it varies from book to book. Sometimes a book is really rare that you can sell it for double the price that you originally bought it and sometimes you should reduce your price a lot.

Make sure to check your items and see if your item is the lowest price or not. For the beginning you should probably expect little money and as time passes by you get more feedback from people and hence you can expect selling more items with better price.

Amazon maintains consistency, i.e. they do not tend to make changes often. This is good for you as a seller since changes cost time. When changes are made, they tend to stick and sellers

I work for a school, updating keys on existing TE-2400 registers. Simple setup - 53 items, all same department. Have programmed prices and names but having some issues. They previously had keys set up for...


Whew! Where do I start... Okay, reports.
Daily PLU (item): Turn key to z, type 14 then press CASH (if it isn't a PLU report, try 15 CASH, I'm going from memory). For the periodic report, turn to Z2 and try the same thing. If you haven't been printing these reports, the first one will be big, so ignore the first report.
To clear condiment links, try this: Turn key to program mode 3 SUBTOTAL 0 Now press one of the items that has a condiment link SUBTOTAL
Now turn the key back to REG and try it. If it works, then you can do it to the other PLUs that have condiment links. This method may remove the department link, so if you want to use departments, you may need to link it back to dept 1. See how you get on.

You have the department set as a SINGLE ITEM department. This is address N2 in the department programming sections of the manual. Change this value to 0 instead of one and you will be set.

I have no backup or restore systems. I need to restore to factory settings. Please help.


There are only two ways to restore to factory settings.

1. use existing disks or purchase the original Aspire restore disks.

2. buy a new copy of Windows XP and then download any missing drivers from the Acer website.

with Item 1, if you have the original sticker under the computer showing the License Product ID code, then the replacement disks from Acer will be inexpensive. If you need a new licence as well, then the price goes up a lot!

Sounds like dept 2 is set as a negative department. You need to change the sign of dept 2 to positive. Should be under department programming in the manual.

If you accidentally set iPod nano to use a language you don’t understand
You can reset the language.
1 Press and hold Menu until the main menu appears.
2 Choose the sixth menu item (Settings).
3 Choose the last menu item (Reset Settings).
4 Choose the first item (Reset) and select a language.
Other iPod nano settings, such as song repeat, are also reset.
Note: If you added or removed items from the iPod nano main menu (see “Adding or
Removing Items on the Main Menu” on page 11) the Settings menu item may be in a
different place. If you can’t find the Reset Settings menu item, you can restore
iPod nano to its original state and choose a language. See “Updating and Restoring
iPod Software” on page 69.

PLU and department Casio TE 2000


Hi.
Your machine comes standard with 24 department buttons on the keyboard, and PLUs by memory location. It is hard to explain simply, but the basic idea is that a department is designed as a category key, and a PLU (Price Look Up) is designed for specific items with an attached price. As your machine has a pricing function for departments, you really don't need PLUs on such a simple machine.
What I'm really saying is the keyboard has departments on it which can be set with a name and price so that they can be one touch buttons to bring up name and price with a touch, or you can have them open price (where an item has no preset price, so you type the price each time). If you need a lot more than 24 item buttons, you will have to do the rest by code numbers, as this is only a basic machine.
Just let me know how many items you wish to enter into it, and I'll tell you how to program it.

The tables you are referring to with a+b=c etc. are the machine features, or system programming. These are the important settings that tell the machine what things to print, how the function keys will operate, security settings etc. These are mainly for us dealers, as they are written in tech speak as you can see. I don't recommend changing any of them unless you need to, as you can get into a mess. If you tell me anything that doesn't work how you would like, I can help you to set the machine features where necessary.
