Why does it freeze trying to,get programs

Typically stream freezing is caused by a slow Internet, or download speed. Unfortunately most Internet service providers don't give you their full speeds as advertised, and some actually "throttle-down" you speed during heavy usage periods, leaving the user wondering why everything got so slow. 5Meg download speeds are sufficient to handle a single High-Def stream, yet uninterrupted lower resolutions can be achieved at just over 1Meg. Then there's the compression technology used to send the stream. Netflix for instance has excellent compression, and will also automatically detect a slower connection, reducing the quality, or resolution, delivered.
You can try testing your upload, and download speeds at a number of test sites... Try Googling "Speed test" here's an example: Speedtest net by Ookla The Global Broadband Speed Test
Unfortunately these tests don't provide a complete picture of what's happening when applied to streaming results, as providers usually allow a few minutes of top speed initially then begin their slow-down.
I'm able to stream two separate movies, uninterrupted, from Netflix, at just under 3Meg, on DSL. Some cable providers claim high speeds, but curiously are unable to deliver uninterrupted streams unless you upgrade your service at an additional monthly cost?

BUFFERING SLOW, THEN PICTURE COMES THEN DROPS.

You probably have a slow internet connection. It is recommended that you have a minimum 25/25 Mbps connection from your provider. If you do then the streaming stick might be too far from your wireless router. Try to move the router closer to the Streaming Stick if possible. The best way to watch streaming video is with a wired ethernet connection with a Roku 3 or other wired device. Good Luck!

Slow speed while steaming

This could be caused by many different problems. It could be that your connection is just too slow for that stream which could mean that the NBA has not optimized the stream well enough, or that there may be a quality setting that you can lower to get better performance. It could also be that due to how the streams work and that you are using a wireless service that you are losing packets causing the problem, the only ways to fix that would be to change service to a dsl or cable internet service, or try streaming from some place that has better signal. To get an idea of how good your connection is you can run the tests at www.speedtest.net and www.pingtest.net

Video slow

You probably need more memory.

If you place a dvd in your drive and play it does it play slow and stall? If so you need more memory. If not then the site you are streaming the video from might be slow or have heavy traffic.

Your internet service provider might have you on a slow line speed. AT&T has different line speeds for their customers. If you purchase the lowest priced package then your line speed will be very slow on downloading and streaming.

Computer videos are starting and stopping

Either you need more memory in your computer or the site from where you are streaming the videos has a lot of traffic. Also, it might be that you have a slow internet connection. AT&T sells a slow speed internet connection that is not for streaming videos and it will be very slow.

If you can play a DvD on your computer without it starting and stopping then it could be the site you are streaming the video from.
