Cutter blade remains locked.

My blade will not go up and down. It's as if it is locked down, but the lock is not on. Any suggestions?

When you release the blade, sometimes you have to reengage it manually, turn it to unlock, machine off (safety only) push up on bottom of upper blade until it stops. turn hand wheel and watch if blade is moving. If not repeat. When it moves your good to go.

The cutter on my White super lock 1934D has dropped down and won't stay in the correct position to cut. How do I fix this?

The cutter mechanism connects to the machine whet the front is closed. If you look at the machine with the door open. You will see a finger coming out of the inside of the machine. If you turn the hand wheel it should move up and down. On the cutter mechanism there is a fork that fits over the finger. When it is all closed up it sould work together to move the cutter blade up an down. Is the cutter in the up position?

How to clean wiper sensor on enterprise

Cutter blade needs replacement. Sensor is likely fine and is not located in the bobbin case area.
Sensor is telling you there is a cutter error. More than likely need a new cutter. Easy enough.

I have a Babylock 5260 serger and have changed the blades before but this time when I changed them I can't get them to align correctly. the top blade comes down and hits the bottom blade. I cant figure out...

First make sure that both blades have no burrs on the them from hitting pins. Then set the lower blade so that the cutting surface is flush with the surface of the needle plate. Then adjust the upper blade so that when it comes down to it's lowest position on the downward stroke of the cutter arm, that the cutting edge comes down past the lower blade at least 1MM. That will ensure a full cut of the blades.

Using the cutter on the Baby Lock Evolve

As wide as you want, but anything over a few inches is going to be difficult to guide.

You will get a more even cut if you trim away most of the excess down to a few inches, like with a rotary cutter and mat.

Babylock EMP6 problem with thread cutting

The thread cutting mechanism is dull and needs to be replaced or sharpened. I had the same problem on my machine. I found another post where another user said it has to be replaced every 150 hours of machine use, the cost was 62 dollars. My dealer would not sell me the parts he said I had to bring it in, so I decided to sharpen it myself. See picture for more details. To start take the two screws of the top of the chrome plate to reveal cutter that is above bobbin. The cutter is in two parts both chrome plated. The hook part is held in place by a copper plated screw, the blade (shown in picture hanging off to the side) is held in place by one small screw. I sharpened the blade on a fine grit Japanese water stone (brown block shown in picture) to a razor edge and about a 7 degree angle; the tip of the blade must ride on the hook. This still did not make the cutter work perfectly so I had to take the hook out and reform the small hole in the hook that the blade rides over with a the un-fluted end of a 5/64 high speed steel drill bit. Was not hard to do because the hook is not hardened steel, at least on mine. When putting the blade back on make sure it is resting against the rolled black pressed pin before tightening down.
