Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console
I have restored to factory settings, cleaned the buttons, and updated software.... Doesn't anyone know how to fix this. It seems like a common problem with no solution.
Sounds like you have a corrupted operating system.
try to re-flash the firmware of your psp.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Nothing could happen now because once you've update your psp with v5.51 it will not downgrade and you can only play UMD games or demo.

Luckly since you have the 1000 it wont be anything to fix. just take off the front faceplate and clean it out. it sounds hard but really is not. here is a video of a kid doing it on youtube
