On Internet Explorer press
f10 this will make the tools menu visible, there you can find the compatibility view settings

probably you have the "view all sites on compatibility..." uncheck
that to disable this feature

SOURCE: yahoo toolbar assistant keeps saying a program

To remove the Yahoo toolbar:

  1. Click on your Start Menu, select Control Panel. Click on Add or Remove Programs, or similar.
  2. Find the Yahoo Toolbar in this list and Uninstall it.

If you still have this problem after uninstalling, you will need to disable it in Internet Explorer or Firefox.
  • In Internet Explorer, open the Tools menu, select Manage Addons. Find the Yahoo Toolbar and Yahoo Toolbar Assistant. Disable them both and the problem should be fixed.
  • In Firefox, open the Tools menu, select Addons. Look for the Yahoo Toolbar and Yahoo Toolbar Assistant under Extensions, and Plugins. Disable them both and the problem should be fixed.

How to get rid of ads on my screen when I go to my in box in Yayoo mail

You can either temporarily hide the ads that keep popping up on your Yahoo Mail page or block them permanently. To know how, refer to the steps below.

To temporarily hide ads (for free email accounts):
1)Sign in to your Yahoo Mail account
2)When, while viewing your list of emails or a particular email, an ad pops up, you can see a right-facing arrow between your email and the advertisement. Click on this arrow.
3)The ad will get hidden temporarily.
(Important: This blocks the ads temporarily only and as soon as you perform the actions like refreshing the Yahoo Mail page, marking a particular email as spam, replying to an email, or just clicking on any of the sections in the navigation-menu located on the left of the page, a new ad may pop up again).

To permanently remove graphical and text ads:
Yahoo Mail has recently come up with "Yahoo Ad Free Mail" service to enable you to get rid of graphical and text ads on a permanent basis when viewing your Yahoo Mail account from a computer. You need to sign up for Yahoo Ad Free Mail account before starting using this service.
(Note: Before signing up for Yahoo Ad Free Mail account, please check if the service is available in your region. Also, even after subscribing to the service, the subscribers may still get the text ads that come up on Yahoo Mail on a mobile web browser and the text ads that come up in the "Basic Mail" interface of Yahoo Mail on a computer. To know what Basic Mail is, refer to the following Yahoo webpage:

How do you disable a pop blocker

Pop-ups are web pages that automatically open when clicking on a weblink; they may or may not be related to the site you are attempting to view.
Most often pop-ups are unwanted advertisements and other forms of spam, which is the reason pop-up blockers exist: to keep unwanted images and sites from interfering with normal Internet browsing.
Sometimes pop-up blockers will block sites and pages that you may want to view, in which case you may want to disable your pop-up blocker.

Create the Menu tab.
Right click in the top section on your homepage select the Menu option this will add File Edit View Tools and Help to the top of your homepage
Click the Tools menu.
Scroll down to "Pop-up blocker."

Select, "Turn off popup blocker."
Disable Pop-up Blocking in Firefox
Select the Tools, menu and click "Options."
Click the Content tab.
Uncheck the box labeled "Block pop-up windows," then click "OK."
Disable Stand Alone Pop-up Blockers
Press "Control," "Alt" and "Delete" simultaneously to bring up the Task Manager.
Find your pop-up blocker program and highlight it, under the Processes tab.
Select "End process."

Keep getting annoying pop-ups when I access my yahoo email How do I get rid of them ? Thanks, Nico

Which browser are you using? I suggest switching to Chrome and using the Ad-block extension. Or switching to Firefox and using its Ad-block extension. Internet explorer has popup blocking and ad blocking capabilities however the other browsers listed are far superior.

I keep getting an error message #14 when I try to open my e-mails. I can open them but keep getting this window popping up. Does anyone know what this means and how I can get rid of it?

You can access your email here for now until Yahoo gets all the bugs out. They have been upgrading their servers lately, causing problems for all of us. Or: It's basic, but it works. I used it last night when they were messing around with my compose screen.

Pop up bar

If it really is from the Yahoo Tool bar you can just turn it off in your browser. Drop down the View Menu and click on Toolbars.

You will see a list of your currently installed toolbars and the active ones have ticks next to them. Untick any of the ones you don't use.

I also noticed this link on Yahoo Answers.
