Question about Anaheim Angels Coleman Quad Chair

1 Answer

My coleman vertex 7500 generator was running fine, then all of a sudden it quit putting out power. the motor still runs fine. What do you think it is?

I had been running the 220 side on a hot water heater, then unplugged it. I was using the 110 side, power quit putting out, motor still running.

My coleman powermate pro 6750 generator only puts out like half power, after 30 minutes it loads up and runs fine. what causes this?

It would be surprising to me if the engine was running at proper speed while it is not putting out full power. I am not familiar with your particular model so my answers are coming from knowledge of generators in general. If it is running at proper speed then it would have to be a regulator problem. This is assuming that it isn't trying to run in an overload condition and that you are letting it run a little before you put a load on it.

Hello.. I have a 220v stack washer and dryer unit. I live in hawaii and never use the dryer and electricity here is at a premium. I would like to run just the washer on 110 and disconnect the dryer and run...

Hello Troy, I have checked the schematic which should be located behind the sloping front panel above the washer lid. The washer portion is powered by 110 vac supplied from the dryer's L1 connection (black) and the neutral (white). It should be quite simple to make an adapter with "hardware store" parts like a standard 20 amp plug and an appropriate 220 volt receptical. Please verify that the neutral lead goes to chassis ground and make use of the 110 plug's ground to the receptacal ground (green headed screws) with a seperate lead, for your safety. When the machine is plugged into the adapter, only the washer should function.
As a final note, I see that the dryer motor and timer are also 110 volt but are connected from the other hot lead, L2, to neutral. Only the heater is powered by 220 vac. Therefore if you should connect to L2 by mistake, only the dryer drum would operate. Unfortunately, I do not see a simple way to make both the washer and dryer run on a single 110 feed.

PM0557523 7500 WATT Vertex Coleman missing Capacitor.Need a wiring Diagram for AVR.0065649 Board I have a new capacitor comming and new Diodes.but I dont see where the wires conect to the AVR board?!

There are at least two AVRs for this generator. The original AVR has the diodes mounted on an external heat sink. The updated AVR has the diodes mounted directly on the circuit board. I have a schematic of the original model with the external diodes but it doesn't have the values or parts on the schematic. I will be more than happy to e-mail you a copy of what I have.

80 gallon tank what is the voltage and how do i hook electric wires to it

Most Larger water heaters are 220 volt ac single phase. This means you need 3 wires, two hot wires one neutral or ground. You will need to come from the breaker box off of a dual breaker of 30 amps or better. See the manual with the new heater. In your breaker box you have two sides or in coming service. The right side and the left each side is hot 110volts ac. you need to pull one leg (hot) from each side into the dual breaker out to the heater connections. The ground or neutral wire is un-insulated copper. Run these wires out to the heater. One black hot at 110 vac, one white hot at 110 vac and one plain copper ground.

Whirlpool Senseon dryer GEW9868KQO will not heat - there is 110vac at P1-5 (L1) and P1-2 (N), The Thermal Cut-Off is closed, the high Limit Thermostat is closed, I am getting 10K ohms at P2-5 and P-6 the...

1) bad thermostats. There are usually 2 or more. A high limit on heater box, just above terminals on the bottom. 1 or 2 will be on the duct next to the blower. Check these with an ohm meter (or continuity checker). Some have 4 terminals, the extra 2 small terminals are small heaters inside the thermostats which alter it's temperature characteristics. These will usually read around 4000 ohms or so. Check the 2 main largest terminals for continuity.

2) Only getting 110 volts: This is often overlooked, but if for some reason one of the poles feeding the 220 power from the house wiring is open but the other is OK (for example, houses with fuses where only one fuse is blown, or a bad circuit breaker with one pole open). The motor and timer run on 110. If the side of the 220 line that feeds the motor is OK but the other one is open the motor will run but the heater,( which needs 220), will not heat. Check for 220 volts between the 2 outer terminals where power cord connects or between the 2 "hot" terminals of the 220 outlet the dryer is plugged into.

3) Bad centrifugal switch in motor. This is what actually turns the heater on, for safety reasons, so the heater cannot come on unless the fan is spinning. Otherwise without air flow past it, the heater would burn out. There are 2 large gauge (usually red or yellow) wires going to the connector on the motor, these go to the contacts inside the motor that turn the heater on.

Hope this helped Tim
