Turn table wont turn


The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

In some brands, you have to cut the motor cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

I have a GE spacemaker XL1800. the model number is JVM 1842 BD. The turn table has stopped turning. There is a turn table control and that is turned on. how do I go about repairing it? also, wher


The full model number from the tag on the unit would be JVM1842BD001 or JVM1842BD002 without the spaces.

The microwave was dropped off a table and the control panel section popped off. it was tested and worked. it was moved to another trailer and now it won't work. the panel is tapped in place, the door...


It sounds like the door is out of alignment with the cabinet. The latch assembly may also be damaged. Do not operate until these issues have been addressed. A door that doesn't line up properly can allow microwave energy to leak past the door.

Check your owners manual as some turntables can be turned off by a switch on the control panel. If not, the turn table connections may have come loose from the control board or the motor could have died..

it sounds like it one of your micro-switches inside that control the power to the doors, if one of the switches is bad, it would cut the power , the panenl will light, the turn table will work, the fan will turn on , but you will not get any heat at all, micro-switches run depending onthe unit from 5-10 bucks, when you open the unit you will see the one that is bad, is usually bent or the connector might be burn or melt, good luck..!

sounds like either a powerboard or control board is sending erratic voltage or no voltage to the table motor and possibly the light.
