Question about Computers & Internet
You may have to hold the power button down longer like five ten seconds, it might not be off at all it could be in deep sleep called S3 standby or worse HIBERNATE. Hold the power button down til it cycles all the way thru and comes on, then I can help you disable all that stuff, the best way to save energy is to insulate your house, dam if I didn\'t have a laptop I\'d have no heat at all.

SOURCE: My laptop won't turn on
Can you remove the battery? If so pop it out and leave it out for a couple of minutes then pop it back in and see what happens.

Most likely your battery is dead.
If you are worried about your HD , the best thing to do would be to power it off.
Remove the battery and see if it will boot on the AC adapter.
If it boots , just get a new battery.
If not you have a motherboard issue and need to call Acer if it is under warranty.

Well you can reseat the RAM and check if that does not fixes the issue, it could be an issue with the system board . You can contact Acer support line, if the unit is under warranty you can have system board replaced.
