How to fix rear studs

,First, put block under front tires to keep from moving. If you have rear drum brakes, then you will need to remove hub,Jack up and secure, then remove tire, remove wheel speed sensor,if equipped.remove brake drum, bearing and spindle assembly. To remove stud and replace, you will have to turn bearing and align bad stud so it has room to be removed.get a hammer and a piece of wood to put over stud and knock out, don't use a piece of metal, could mess up end and make hard to get out. After you get new stud in ,get lug nut and tighten to pull stud in.A punch smaller than stud will work.

Hi haw can i change my wile Bering?

Park the car on level ground. Put the transmission in park and set the parking brake. Jack the car up and place the jack stands underneath the frame of the car.

Use the tire iron to remove the lug nuts from the wheel and pull the wheel off.

Use the ratchet set to remove the mounting screws on the disc brake caliper. Pull the caliper loose and then slide the disc off of the wheel studs.

Use the ratchet to loosen and remove the wheel hub mounting bolts located on the backside of the steering spindle.

Pull the entire wheel hub assembly off of the steering spindle. Take the assembly to a machine shop and have them use a hydraulic press to press out your bearing (the bearing is pressed into the hub assembly and is too big for at-home extraction).

Press in the new wheel bearings and then reassemble the wheel hub by mounting it on the steering spindle again.

Slide the disc back into place on the wheel studs and then remount the caliper with the mounting bolts. Slide the wheel back in place on the studs and tighten down the lug nuts in a star pattern.

Lower the car off of the jack stands or move on to change the other side's wheel bearings as well.

Broken rear wheel stud how do i repair it

The stud has to be hammered out if you don't have the tools to do this then I suggest you take it to a tire shop they don't charge much. depending if it's front wheel or rear wheel drive will determine what has to be done. If it's a rear axle they will remove the tire and drum and knock out the old one with a hammer and punch and replace it with a new one same size, they can hammer it back in our use washers to pull it into place this is the same on the front wheel. You will need to measure the bolt to get the right length and width. tire shop will have the stud you need.

Wheel Stud

If you remove the wheel drum you can knock out the broken stud. It is pressed into the hub. Take the hub to aan auto parts store ( so you get the same size stud) and buy a new stud. put the stud into the hole in the hub. When you remount you remount the tire and tighten the lug nuts that will pull the new stud up tight in the hub.

Hope this helps

Good luck Loringh
