Question about Prestige Remote Start

1 Answer

Starter isn't working

I have everything hooked up, minus the trunk and door lock features as they are already on my factory remote, but the starter still doesn't work. I had a shop tell me I need to purchase another module bypass. Is this true, or are they trying to sell me something?

I have checked all the fuses and safety switches with volt meters. All are working as they should be, the system is getting power, but it just is not starting the vehicle. I have programmed and reprogrammed several times as well.

2003 fx35 door lock problems

The problem is the Door lock actuators and when I went to the dealer they want $467.90 to fix just my driver's side door, but after almost having a heart-attack from the dealer's estimate, I checked on ebay and found a Kit to fix the door lock for only $59 so i ordered one kit (shipping was super fast) it came with very easy instructions on how to install the kit, so I installed about 4-months ago in under 1HR and now everything is Back to normal, I can unlock/Lock using my original OEM key fob and also using the power switch on the door, so everything work as from factory ( no need for aftermarket alarm or remote) ... !!!! here is a link of the kit that I purchased. The seller is green-seller1975 and item #111291472359

Check the hood pin switch. It's located under the hood around the edge of the engine compartment. It's designed to make contact with the hood when the hood is closed. Also, check for a remote start shutdown toggle switch under the dash.

It is a common problem with factory remote keyless entry (RKE) systems when a remote start system is installed. Many RKEs will not operate when the ignition is powered as the case when engine is running under the control of the remote starter. There is no easy solution to get around this safety feature if you insist on using the factory remote to operate the door locks. The best option is to use the MARS-22 to control you door locks.

there is no solution to this, it is factory setup to prevent you from locking your keys in the car when it's running and so the trunk can not be opened by accident

Dealer install remote starter bypasses kill switch

1) remote starter was not hooked up to the factory arm wire
2) trunk release was programmed to disarm factory alarm before popping trunk
3)parking light wire on remote starter was not hooked up
4)disarm wire from remote starter was not hooded up
5)this is not normal and they should fix the problem or have it done by some one else and have them pay for it, how much did they charge,
Bring it over I'll fix it right and not charge overpriced amount

Remote starter does not work but will unlock and lock doors.

depending on your alarm which it sounds like a viper model maybe? on my 02 you have to incorporate a factory alarm bypass module in order to be able to start the truck, they run about 100.00 bucks and have to be profssionally installed. The truck wont start because the computer isnt recieving the proper starting sequence due to the factory alarm
