Did an idiotic thing and moved the DVD player without taking DVD's out. Now we're getting H01 error (alignment from the manual). Can I take this thing apart and fix it?

I opened up by Panasonic dvd-cv52, which I purchased in Dec 2002 for H07.

The H07, based on research, indicated that the spindle motor had an issue, a post I found suggested trying some 3-in-1 oil.

I tried this and it worked (note, pop the top off firstm then power up the unit, then press the open button, then unplug the power, this will make it easier to lubricate).

Once I had done this and powere back up, I got h01.

Turns out I neglected to put back the elastic that is used to spin the carosel for the dvd's (I have a multi dvd player).

I would check to see if there is an elastic in place to spin the carosel, maybe your broke (assuming you have a multi carosel also)

Good Luck

We took the cover off, found the errant DVD and screwed it back together. No more issues. Next time will take out DVD's before moving.

Code 68 appearing on LCD screen off a brivis LPG ducted heater

This is a error that can be fixed with a specific reset sequence. Follow this process carefully. The unit will not turn on for long and turns itself off after about a second so you need to execute step 2 immediately after step one.
Step 1 - Turn on heater
Step 2 immediately press no 1 on the keypad - this will display the error code H01 #68
Step 3 Hold down no 4 for approx 5 secs till the screen goes blank
Step 4 The screen displays all of the settings and resets
Note: you may need to do this a few times before it works - wait some time before retrying. If a reset will fix the problem this is the solution - if it is hardware a service call is required.

Yamaha dvd s-80 showing error code H01 when trying to play disc. What does this mean ?

The manual isn't much help, is it?

It seems the "H01" is some kind of common and fatal error code in many disc players and I have yet to find anyone who has paid the ransom, er cost, to get one fixed as it is cheaper and makes more economical sense to just buy a new unit...

"Printhead Failure" (error code 3802)
To resolve this error:
  1. Open the printer access door.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter from the printer.
  3. Remove and install the printhead two times.
  4. Wait 30 seconds to allow the printer to reset.
  5. Connect the power adapter to the printer. Turn the printer on if necessary.
    • After the printer completes powering up, the message "Printer access door open" will appear.
  6. Close the printer access door.
If error condition continues, contact Kodak for printhead replacement.

I am trying to use a Panasonic AJ-D650, which hasn't been used for about 5 years. Initially the DVCpro tapes wouldn't load but they are now loading correctly. However if I press play or any other command...

most likely problem with the AJ-D650 is deteriorated electrolytic capacitors on the mechanism drive board. when these caps fail, the mechanism will not load completely, if at all. also check for bad capacitors in the signal path from the head drum. first and easiest step is to clean the heads; often a good cleaning will restore operation to a non-playing machine.
