It is very unusual to have wall studs this far apart - most are 16" on center. Mounting anything that is very heavy on studs so far apart will not be safe. Have you considered a table top stand?

Lay the TV face down on a flat surface covered with a cloth. Back out all the screws holding the base stand. Hold the back and front against the base shank while tightening all the screws through the base. Make sure they are tight.

There is a metal part that the TV sits on. To remove base you need to remove I believe it was 4 screws center lower back of TV, then pull off base. Hope this helps.

We had the same problem, we just wiggled it back and forth, gave it a good tug, and hey presto! We got it out. I'm not sure whether this is the "official" method of doing it, as nothing is mentioned in the instruction manuals.
