I just bought a pack of Westinghouse solar lawn lights and the lights are excessively dim at night. I know they are supposed to be brighter. They are in very dark places at night that get great sunlight during the day, and it appears all batteries are seated normally. What is wrong with them?

Not a solution but -
if you put your batteries in a battery charger (normal battery charger) and charge them, they will work sooooo much better.

Just keep doing this every time they seam to be dull (after many clowdy days)

We bought a solar light a Westinghouse item # 37136608W It had a least 7 hrs of direct sunlight for over 7 hrs.but still does not work, We think we had it on. is it possible that the off switch shuts off...

For first time use solar light needs to charge in full sunlight for 8-12 hours with the switch in the "ON" position to allow the rechargeable battery to reach maximum capacity.
There is also a protective film on the solar panel that needs to be removed.
After doing that, fully charging the battery with the switch in the "ON" position, then if the light does not turn on, remove the 4 screws from the solar cell assembly, remove the battery, wipe both ends and reinstall battery. Make sure the battery is making secure contact with the terminals. I had a new one and the battery was loose inside, making the light go on and off. I reseated the battery and all is well.
However you should not have to replace the battery or the unit, it should still be under warranty if you just bought it. Westinghouse guarantees this unit for one year.

Waranty information is here
http://www.westinghousesolarlights.com/products/solar/1yrwarranty.pdf
I would counsel you to just take the unit back for exchange or refund, as the warranty has an exclusion clause and one of the exclusions is if the unit has been opened. Opening the unit might invalidate the warranty.

The display on my DEH-1100MP is fine at night, but

check that the illum (usually orange)wire is not incorrectly hooked up to acc or perm power as it dims the display for night driving (supposed to be hooked up to your headlight parker switch.)

I would like to rewire a solar security light (motion activated) to stay on at dark. Brand westinghouse

The light will only stay on as long as the battery lasts. My guess is that will not last all night. What you can do is buy a light sensor switch (or even a light sensor socket adaptor is available to save you from having to wire it in) to keep a light on during the night. You can use a CFL or even an LED lamp to save electricity, but it is unlikely that a solar-charged cell will power even one of thes all night long.

I bought a 10 pack of Westinghouse Solar Lights and placed them in my garden about two years ago. Only about 5 of them light at night now. All the rest are getting em ough sun light everyday. Is there...

Most of the solar lights use a stadard 1.2 volt 850 mh nicad rechargable AA size battery and you can get them at your local Home Depot store. You also might try to clean the solar cell on the light they seem to get a film over them that stops some sun light from reaching the solar cell.

Westinghouse Solar sensor issue

Put a small piece of black tape over half the sensor. This will make it more sensitive to light conditions.

When you turn the lights on in the daytime (during rain) the console dims out. Honda accord, 2004

It's supposed to. The console is brighter during the day so that you can see it. At night, that same level of intensity is too bright. When you turn them on during the day, the car doesn't know whether it's day or night, so they get dimmer.
