SOURCE: by mistake two weeks ago the refrigerator was

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

The refrigerator just made a ice block internally. Do a manual defrost by turning off the unit and placing an exteranl fan directed at the freezer compartment for about 2 hours. It will make a water mess but after 2 hours tidy things up and restart the unit. It should work fine. Recheck temps in 8 - 10 hours. IF you still have problems, respond here and I will help you.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Why is my Samsung two-door fridge freezer leaking water into the bottom of the freezer compartment. What is the solution. I have defrosted it for 24 hours without success.

Hello there
You said you' ve defrosted it for 24 hours, that is good and it is the first step, Now clean out the drain system on the freezer side. The ice melts and become water it should drain out onto the drain pan underneath . But because the drain is plugged and the water can't running down the drain so it running out the drip pan onto the bottom of your freezer compartment. You may need to take out the back pannel on the freezer side to get to the drip pan below the freezing coil.

Hope this can help you to solve the problem.

Was unloading my groceries and putting things in the freezer, I have a GE side by side. It took maybe 3 or 4 minutes. Now the fan has been running for over 5 hours. Anything I can do?

warm food will take upto 24 hours to freeze,so the compressor running for 5hours is nothing to worry about.i reckon if you filled an empty freezer with fresh food for freezing,it would take about 2/3 days to go down to minus 18C. and stay there.depending on air flow/stacking arrangements.

if the freezer is working fine - and the fan is running in the refrigerator I would give it a little time (24 hours) to catch up (from the door being left open).

Wondering if there is a problem

Good day,
6 hours to begin the freezing process, 24 hours for normal operation. This applies if the machine doesn't have excessive door openings or loading a lot of warm produce during this time frame.

Side byrefrigerator runs but not cold. Freezer is

take everything out of it, and let it thaw for 24 hours, using towels and whatever to clean up the water......then plug it back in, if it still does it, like 2 days later, it's broke, if it doesn't it was just the coil in the back that froze up. Happened to me.

Stopped cooling but i can hear running . Unplugged for 24 hours and plugged back in but coil inside freezer is not cooling. I can see the fan in the freezer running. It was working fine two days ago.

The overload/relay is probably bad .This is the part plugged onto the compressor , with 2 or 3 wires plugged onto it . You can easily replace this part . Be sure to have your model number when ordering .

Froze but won't could

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer/control board
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.

Ice maker doesn't make enough ice to supply two senior citizens. This is the 2nd refrigerator we have had installed this month. What can we do to increase the amount of ice it puts out. The ice bin has...

Found in the FAQ section on Samsung.com:
Samsung refrigerator freezers produce about 120 cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications.
Empty the ice tray and let the unit run for 24 hours.
If fewer than 50 cubes are produced during the 24-hour test, then your refrigerator requires service. Please contact Samsung Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service appointment.
If your freezer is producing 50 to 90 cubes per day, try the following:
  • Set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting. Freezer temperature must be 5 degrees Fahrenheit or less for the ice maker to work properly.
  • Make sure that the water valve on the refrigerator water supply line is completely open. You can find the water valve where the refrigerator water supply line taps into your house water line.
  • If you have a water filter in your refrigerator, change the filter cartridge. For instructions, see your Users Manual.
If you want your freezer to produce more than 120 ice cubes in a day, try the following:
  • An ice maker typically makes 1 tray of ice every 90 minutes. To shorten the amount of time the freezer takes to produce a tray of ice, set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting.
  • If your refrigerator has a Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button to speed up the ice making process. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically.
NOTE: If you have just installed your refrigerator, it will take 6 to 12 hours for the refrigerator to produce ice.
You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker produces (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice maker is making ice from clean water.
